Her props are top notch--as close to real balloon boobs as you can get--and keep getting better (even lactating now...no idea how the hell you make a balloon inflate with air AND lactate like a fire hose but somehow they did it), her effects are improving, and I think her team is learning as they go along. |
Hi (again) Wren...another thought,
You're right *we are learning as we go*, and we've learned a lot so far. I've thought about this particular point you've made about our effects & our props. One of the biggest & most important things that we've come to realize over the last few years is this:
The better we get with the variety and realism with our props the more my fans have come to expect and anticipate better & bigger things, and that's 'OK' because we understand it and we want our fantasies to appear to be as real as they possibly can be too. Also, because our content is all about special effects we feel that not only are we competing against ourselves (due to the fact that we keep raising the bar) but we're also (to a degree) having to compete with special effects in the mainstream market - which are by far better than anything we'd ever have the budget to produce. However, people get accustomed to a certain standard and can tend to expect that in other venues as well. I see a lot of kick ass special effects in big screen movies and think 'why can't we do that'...lol! But I know it's just a pipe dream to a big degree.
People may tend to look at our stuff and critique it, but keep in mind "it's not easy & it's not cheap". Over the last several years we've put a LOT of the $$'s the sites have brought in back into making better quality props & productions and we'll continue to do so because that *bar* will still be there to surpass. I've always been an overachiever & sometimes it can drive me nuts because I want it ALL right now - but that's just who I am.

You know, I don't think I've been thinking about these people as people, Bambi, 123, even Junk. I've been thinking of these people as the "Icons" they've become.
Like thinking of the Ford Motor Corporation, instead of Henry Ford.
So, my opinion?
123/Blaze: Looks like a difference of perspectives on the same situation. Not my fight, I won't form an opinion or take a side. I also retract any opinions I previously expressed.
Bambi's sites: Great sfx. Could use a larger stable of actors, or multiple production teams, for speed and efficiency.
Taylor: Reminds me of early Bambi, but with more actresses. Give them some time with practice and they could be great. I suppose the XBOX to Bambi's Older, more refined PS2. Can't wait for next gen.
Junk in the trunk: Coin flip. Heads: inflammatory and unhelpful. Tails: inflammatory and helpful.
E.D. Is funny from time to time, but mean all the time.
--P.S.
Bambi; that new blond 'do caught me off guard. Any reason?

Call me a punk, but you gotta admire the irony. Here bambi gets flack for throwing down the mod hammer on EM (not taking sides on the bambiblaze.com issue, thanks!), and then it has to happen in the thread that (inadvertently) started discussing it.
Anarchy sounds lovely, but it's definitely earned its place in the ranks of adolescent idealism for a reason.
Truth be told, I like these guys. They're entertaining once you learn how to wind 'em up. What would the circus be without the clowns?

At this point, I think the first crew with an after-effects tech wins. Digital post-production is the next step IMO. Then again, I have been staring at a computer screen for 12 hours a day. Buyer beware.
P.S. The new girl is hot. Do you play duets?

Just to clarify, in case anyone out there might misinterpret my post, it was my intention to try to point out what I liked and disliked about all the sites I mentioned. I did speculate about what goes on behind the scenes at some of the sites, but in all honesty I really don't know. Only the owners of the sites can tell you their motivations or what they have to go through to run the site and produce content. Coming from anyone else it's just conjecture and opinion and should be taken with a grain of salt.
The fairest assessment anyone can give is to ask yourself if the sites meet your own needs, and only each individual customer can answer that question. For all sites, just take a look at the previews and if you like what you see, give it a try. I've made purchases or been a member of all the sites I mentioned, and I didn't join just for the heck of it--obviously I saw something I liked enough to make me want to subscribe or buy a video--even on the sites that I don't like as much as others. They all have something worth buying.
P.S. fwoomp, I was studying for an insurance exam, which fortunately turned out to be easy as pie.
