Biggest inflation 'teases' you've seen on screen?

What I mean by this is when a scene is built up in a way that a character is going to be inflated...but aren't.

Painful subject, but it's fun to imagine what could have been at the same time.

I can't think of much, but I'm choosing 'really gross anatomy' from the hotel Transylvania cartoon series. Basically, Mavis' friend Wendy the blob is inflated with a helium tank by a mediocre doctor to restore her goo. Good premise, ugly character. Near the end of the episode, the same doctor is going to do surgery on Mavis herself. He brings out the helium tank again. Oh snap! Mavis is cute and it should work like the last scene in some fashion, right?

Nope, he uses it to inflate a growth off her finger that she reveals under the blanket on her thumb. Bleh...

I know there are some more out there!

How about this one: Humorous atmosphere, hose in mouth, valve is turned on, puffy cheeks... hose pops out.

Well, anyways it explains why we use a mask for breathing oxygen instead of just putting the hose inside our mouth. So inflation wasn't supposed to happen anyway. But given the tone of the narrator's voice, and seeing hose in mouth just triggered my expectations:

That one is pretty good, yeah. Cute girl too so it would have been nice!

Oh please, put some superglue on the hose, give her a noseclip, turn the tap full on.  Why not, God, why not?  It's like watching someone who's oblivious of getting hit on.

I recall one in Totally Spies, in the episode they were helping this teacher get a weapon called the Inflatis, but the teacher turned out to be a villain, and when they confronted him he kicked dust at them and used the Inflatis on a clam instead of them

There's other times we get to see them blow up though so at least in that series they have thaat.

Misery loves company.

See, That's how you know you're on a good website.

Minor one. In Darkwing Duck, his girlfriend, Morgana, is slammed behind a door and smashed flat. When the door swings away from the wall, you see her flattened and slumps to the floor like a collapsing sheet.

Instead of being re-inflated comically, or popping back into shape with the traditional single frame of her overblown, she just fills back out to her normal shape unceremonialy.

I always think that its a shame when you have a character with "stretching" powers, or elastic skin that goes without a decent inflatoin scene.

Mr. Fantastic from The Fantastic 4 had three movies to be inflated, but never did. Elastigirl from The Incredible also never got to inflate, but she has a sequal coming up, so maybe there's hope. It would be a shame if niether of those characters got to blow up on the big screen.

I would have been interested to see the Stretch Armstrong movie, but it looks like that was cancelled due to lack of buzz. It could have been interesting to see Taylor Lautner inflated like a balloon.

I share your frustration about Elastigirl.  It would've been so easy to do that.  She could've been inflated with helium and used as a balloon to rescue the children from the plane crash.

Well, we still have the sequel, hopefully!

You never know.  It's a pretty obvious idea.  It demands to be done!

Wellll, there was an old donald duck cartoon on toon disney where they went on a ship threw a jungle or something and some bug or plant gets donald sick, first his head inflates, then his belly followed by full body and I think it messes with him for the full episode? But then at the end he gets better and daisy gets it but all you see is her float up with an inflated head before it cuts to black and the episode ends

the cartoon was called Quack Pack and the episode was titled Hit the Road Backwater Jack
