Fiery explosions would seem to be a way of not having gore because anything that would be is burnt up.

It's not really my thing to be honest. I kind of like the fantasy of the inflatee feeling a lot of pressure build-up inside them and the associated panic/fear in then that they're going to burst/explode, and I can kind of do popping in the "explode into pieces of balloon and disappear into a cloud of smoke" sort of thing, but I'm not great with blood and gore.

Kind of like the villain in "Live and Let Die." Works for me. Now, substitue Wonder Woman (Linda Carter version in her wetsuit) for James Bond and me for the villain and I'd be happy.

About the same here - I prefer a big "POOF" in a cloud of smoke that burst into nottingness or shred of balloon skin. All depending of the tale and mood I can still get into gory stuff (think Leprechaun 3), but my appeal is the expansion, not the gory bursting per say...
