When the levy breaks...

4 min read

Wynonna was a senior reporter at her local TV station. She had seen a lot of weird things over the years, but today she would become a part of the story. It was the rainy season, but this year was worse than normal. She was sent by her news director to cover the record levels in the local dam. But while she was on location, cracks started to for in the dam. If it were to break, the outpouring of water could wash away the reservation she grew up on.

The cracks started getting worse and worse. Wynonna knew she had to do something, so after her live shot went back to studio, she tossed her microphone at her camera person, and ran to the top of the dam, and kicked her heels off and dove into the water. Penny, her camera person grabbed her camera off the sticks and followed Wynonna to the top of the dam and started rolling tape as Wynonna kicked off her second shoe and took the dive. Penny keyed her IFB and called back to the station "I'm rolling tape on this, but we may want to cut to this live. My reporter dove in and is trying to drink all the water behind the dam!"

Back in the studio, the flood director hands the anchor a note which he reads on the air. "I've just been handed this, It seems we are going back live to the dam where our senior report has jumped in." They take the live feed as the anchor describes what we're seeing live.

"yes, I have the feed now , I looks like our reporter has either dove or fallen into the water. Wait, what is she doing in there? Yes, it looks like she is trying to drink all the excess water! Yes, our camera person on scene confirms via IFB, that she did jump in and is making an effort to drink the water. Look at that ladies and gentlemen at home; her belly is really starting to swell! Her dress is riding up to give her belly room to expand. Now the front of her pantyhose are ripping, oh look, they have burst now, and she's still growing! Reports from the scene indicate her belly is now the size of an SUV and she's still drinking!" A hush falls over the station as all eyes are glued to the monitors. A few moment pass, and the the anchor man shake off his amazement and can finally speak again. "This is amazing" he says. "Her belly is now the size of a Greyhound buss, and she's still gulping water." A few more moment pass, "This is unbelievable! Now her belly is the size of a house! I've have heard of people accomplishing extraordinary things under duress, but this is beyond the limits of reality! How much water can one woman hold? Her skin is stretched thin like a water balloon about to pop. I can see fish swimming around in there just beneath the surface of her skin. Please everyone in TV land, send your good thoughts and prayers that she doesn't explode!"

More time passes and now she looks like an ant on a small apple, as she braces her feet against the old dam, pushes off and rolls herself forward so now the rest of her body on top off the mass that used to be her belly. the water i the reservoir sloshes away for a moment, but then sloshes back. She actually unhinges her jaw like a snake and opens her mouth wider than anyone ever thought possible. Then with one might gulp takes in the backlash of water. Thousands of gallons of water with one might swallow. "Look at that viewers!" the anchor exclaims. With that list might gulp, her belly has swollen to the size of the channel. She IS the dam now! All the communities down stream are saved! It's a miracle ladies and gentleman!"

Representatives form Army Corps of Engineers arrived and took a row bout out to talk to Wynonna. They hired her to continue to be the dam until they could make the necessary repairs.
