Blowing Up the Hardcore Scene

It's Friday night and that means it's time for the concert scene. Jeremy gets in his car and drives down to Upstart to see his friend's screamo band. He thinks this could be their big show opening for bands like Drop Dead Gorgeous, Throwdown, and Icepick. Arriving early, he buys his ticket and walks through the doors. The venue is small. It only holds about a hundred people. There are punk kids and hardcore kids all over. Jeremy doesn't really care too much about hardcore, but still is on the lookout. He brought his special "pin" in case. Jeremy gets right up front and greets his friends as they set up onstage.

"Good luck, Donny," he says. Donny acknowledges him and smiles to see his friend come out and support him. The turnout isn't that great 5 minutes to showtime. There are about 50 kids there. "It is a local venue," he thinks to himself. Jeremy hopes they play his favorite song - Ziplock Dreams. Finally, the show is ready to go on. First, Drop Dead Gorgeous plays and the crowd gets really into it. Jeremy even jumps in a pit. Next up is Dead to Arms- his friend's band. He notices the group of local hardcore kids in the back geting antsy. He thinks to himself "Why didn't they come later?" He's pumped to be at the show though. Jeremy takes a walk outside quickly to get some air because it's so hot inside. The HxC kids are out discussing how Drop Dead Gorgeous were a bunch of "fags" and need to learn to play real music. He walks by and hears one of them mutter "nice billy talent shirt emo kid." It pisses Jeremy off inside that he reaches inside his pocket for the pin, but restrains himself and walks back in the venue. Dead to Arms is ready to go. Jeremy reclaims his spot up front.

They begin one of their best sets and blow most of the crowd away. The local hardcore kids aren't impressed and begin to pit and mock Dead To Arms. Jeremy can see the hurt in Donny's eyes onstage.

Midway through the set, the guitarist breaks a string and has to fix it. A girl from the hardcore group yells " C'mon and finish so we can hear some real music!" The string is fixed and DTA begins their next song. Once again the HxC kids are pitting only this time trying to take kids out. The HxC girl throws one of the guys into Jeremy who knocks over a small girl in front of him on the stage. Donny has to jump the mess of kids that fell onstage. Jeremy picks up the girl and then decideds the pin will be sued tonight. DTA finishes up and thanks the crowd and Jeremy applauds and shakes hands with Donny. The crowd clears out to smoke except for a select few. Jeremy is staring across at the HxC girl. She's alone and now is his chance. He walks up behind her stealthily and pokes her with the pin in the back.

"Oww," she exclaims. Turning around she sees Jeremy.

"What the hell, you little prick!," she yells.

She begins to charge at Jeremy when she feels a strange tingly feeling her belly. She stops and stands in front of Jeremy. Jeremy just smiles. Within in seconds, she begins inflating. She's astonished and doesn't now what to do.

"What's happening to me?"

Jeremy says nothing.

What did you do to me? I'm blowing up!

Again, Jeremy remains silent and watches her expand. Her On Broken Wings shirt begins to get tight and her dress becomes less baggy. She realizes she should get away before something bad happens, but it's too late. Jeremy watches her try to waddle away as she rounds out. Her huge belly is showing and her dress is now a skirt.

The door is in reach, but she can't reach it. Onlookers are pointing and laughing. She's so scared and sweaty and just wants to get out. She had completely round and watches in horror as a crowd of kids surround her.

Her head cocks rapidly from side to side.

"A minute ago, you thought you were tough. Now, you're just a scared helpless blimp of your former self. How does it feel to be victimized?" asked Jeremy.

"What are you going to do to me?" she whimpers.

The groups pushes her onto her back and she rolls into the middle of the floor. Her blue panties are showing to everyone. Icepick is setup and ready to play regardless of the inflated woman on the floor. The HxC guys come back and see their blown up friend. They rush over to kill whoever did it, but Jeremy flashes his pin and says, "Wanna end up like her?" The HxC show their fear and cower.

"Leave now", echoes the crowd. The guys all run away. Jeremy walks up to the round woman and says "Wanna see some real dancing?" The girl crys and shakes her head no. Icepick comes on and they begin the biggest pit ever in Upstart. The HxC girl is being kicked, punched, windmilled, kneed, headbutted,and slapped around the room. By the time Icepick is done, she's very bloody. The wrost part is--it's not over!

Throwdown plays and she endures another ass-kicking.

The show finally ends and Jeremy walks up to the battered blimp.

"Hope you enjoyed our music. It will be the last thing you hear, " he says devilishly.

The pin goes down into the inflated woman and she blows up even larger. She screams and explodes. The show went out with a bang.
