The hotdog was starting to kick in. A second go on the dodgems held no appeal. She agreed to meet her friends by the ferris wheel when they were done, accepting care of their balloons without so much as a blush to betray her pleasure at receiving so many lofty charges, their upward tugging giving her tingles.

Dan Wong wasn't entirely sure how it had happened. He had gone over to his girlfriend's house, Susan Tani, to just chill for a while. Now Dane could admit that sometimes he wasn't the sharpest at times, but it certainly seemed like a good idea at the time. I am a force to be reckoned with at my school. I have confronted six bullies. These bullies have had knives, guns, clubs, and one had an attack hawk (It was “Bring a Pet to Class Day.”) I’ve beaten them all, and I look forward to beating more. My method is simple: I inflate really big and just roll on the jerks. I, Kate the Balloon Girl, am capable of that. I have struck terror into many a bully and made the hallways safer. I have lessened the fear and filled many self-respecting good students with a sense of security long overdue.

I also hate gym class.

As the sun began to set over Hanagawa castle, the servants and guards within began to make preparations for the soon-to-come festivities. Chefs prepared the delicious foods and appetizers, barrels of sake were being rolled around, decorations were being put up, and guards were being put up on alert around the castle. Two guards were standing guard near the gate, their purpose was to not only guard the entrance but greet the invited guests.
