Fuusen Dojo

The Fuusen Dojo is home to the sacred arts of the Fuusen Kunoichi, a group of highly trained female warriors whose secret ability is to make themselves "one with the air" by inhaling deeply and so swelling their bodies until they float, thereby allowing themselves to fly with the air to escape the detection of the wary. They have perfected this craft for over hundreds of years of preparation and endurance, both physical and mental.

The Fuusen Kunoichi are divided into two schools of thought: the 鴉の術 (karasu-no jutsu, The Crow's Art) and the 亀の術 (kame-no jutsu, the Tortoise's Art). They both have their uses when partaking in combat, but the skills differ greatly; whereas the Crow's Art focuses on aerial offense and the ability to strike their opponent when weakest, the Tortoise's Art is more defense-based, emphasizing body strength and durability along with the natural talents of a kunoichi.

Here, these two young kunoichi demonstate the two schools. The one in red shows the basic power of the Crow's Art, the ability to use her turgid belly as a bludgeon when other means of combat are unavailable. Meanwhile, the blue one shows us the Tortoise's Art's principal craft, the ability to drift with the wind and so avoid unnecessary fighting, a feat requiring clarity of mind and strength of body. Whether one picks one school or the other, the art of the Fuusen Kunoichi offers many techniques and a highly involved philosophy to create an effective martial art.
