Basically it's a bunch of people going on about the blueberry scene in the new Wonka film. A lot of them seem very 'excited' by it. Maybe someone with an account of their own should post a link to this site?
Also, has anyone seen the movie yet?
I just saw the movie. I enjoyed it. I thought Depp was pretty hilarious. THe special effects were sweet.
The blueberry scene was awesome. She swells up really fast, but the special effects on it are amazing. It even has butt inflation and her face bloats up. She gets huge, and it shows her stomach between her top and pants with her belly button. I thought it was good.
but... dare i say it... too fast
i don't know i havn't seen the scene.
The movie itself was amazing.. Sounds sort of odd, but I think I prefer this to the old one. Definately like the "Oddball, possibly out-of-his-mind-and-you-wonder-if-he's-all-there" Wonka over Wilder's Wonka. And the Oompas.. I love the goofiness this time around.
Now, as for the scene the lot of us looked forward to; Except for the fact the actual growth was a bit rushed, it was AWESOME. The noises made, the way she bloated and partially hid her head,feet and hands.. It certainly delivered. With that touch of morid fun that we all know and love from Burton.
But I throughly suggest the movie outside of the Blueberry scene. It really was pretty great.

Hopefully when the scene is eventually vidcapped, someone will do a slowed-down version.
It annoys me that, unless I've missed it, WMP doesn't seem to offer the option of playback speed. I'd like to do this with a lot of rendered animations too, since many of them are quite fast and of short duration.
I figure a slowdown is inevitable.
I liked the film but didn't really like the scene. It was very CGI and I think I was expecting less of it, at least for the beginning.
To really make up my mind, I guess I need to see it again. Multiple times. :)
Wow... I dunno if anyone else has seen that thread (on IMDB) tonight besides me, but I was surprised to see that someone (and it wasn't even stacyham) actually posted a link to THIS SITE somewhere down the thread there saying "I know a link to a site where people have blueberry girl fanart" or something. And the discussions that lead to "I think I know what interest you guys have in this scene" were amusing as well. Seems our kind are getting a bit of exposure outside of the community after all. I still find this weird, and maybe a little unnerving, but that's probably the same old feeling of "I'm the only one in the world who likes this stuff" coming back to haunt me....

I registered at IMDB just to read the aforementioned thread. It's pretty clear that some of the people posting have a more than passing interest in the scene.
I always have mixed feelings when a link to this site appears in a mainstream forum. On the one hand, it's possible that people who had no clue of this site's existence now know they aren't alone in their interest. On the other hand, I don't like getting toomuch exposure. It tends to bring unwanted attention.
I saw the film clip, and I hope to see it in theaters where I can get a better view of it. It's definitely different from the old movie. While the original movie maintained a comical feel to it, this one is darker and more ominous. You don't see the aftermath in this one, but the the actual transformation scene and the reactions of onlookers give the impression that something terrible and terrifying is happening to Violet. It's not necessarily a bad thing, but it's a different take on it.
All in all, I think the inflation effect is pretty cool, and I like that she gets to a truly enormous size. This is the biggest inflation I've seen of a live-action actor, and it's quite well done.
Shineofrain over at DA was kind enough to send me a link to the Violet clip. I don't know if it's the same copy as IMDB - it's dark and on an angle and doesn't go right to the end of the scene -

It's seems even more ominous because this bootleg is so dark, but I'd have to agree that while it looks like a pretty good expansion, it's definitely more ominous than the original. In fact I'd even say that some young children would find it a little frightening. It even seems to have a bit of a horror movie vibe (seen in isolation as it is here) with the music, cinematography and even Depp acting kind of worried or like a villain. I think Wilder's Wonka reassured the viewer the whole time by showing no concern whatsoever, knowing as he went on to explain, that she just needed to be juiced.
I'm fairly sure the quality of this clip version almost certainly skews the initial impression. Plus it doesn't show the end of the scene despite being nearly 20MB (dammit).
A pretty solid expansion though - can't wait to see the whole scene at better quality.
Come to think of it (pun or no pun), given the porn industry's penchant for making send-ups of popular movies, I can't help wondering what they'd do with a scene like this. Then again they rarely show any imagination.
