The reason why people like boards like this is because it affords them a level of anonymity. Facebook strips that way, and one ill-conceived post to someone's wall can reveal their secret to all of their friends.

There are those of us in this community who have things going well in our lives, and none of us want to fuck it up by people finding out about our little secret. People consider us to be freaks, at least in the U.S. (I hear places in Europe are far more accepting of people's fetishes)

There's actually a whole bunch of people with myspace accounts that are into inflation. You just make a separate account for inflation stuff only and don't fill out all of your personal details. Of course the majority of them are guys looking to pick up girls into inflation though.

Facebook is a bit different from myspace in that regard. You really don't have multiple facebook pages.

I was actually considering doing that with myspace, as I don't want my friends and people I know find out that I'm into such weird stuff like this. But then again I thought it would be too much a hassle, keeping two accounts :?

I have two Facebook accounts. One of them is just experimental as i have a friend who can't work out how to destroy his own, and i'm trying to destroy it. The other is a serious, proper Facebook account which i use for everything and is extremely public.
I think this touches on the issue of whether it makes sense to be "out" about this. I make a point of using the same user name on here as i do elsewhere so that if people happen to Google me they will find this and know that i'm into it, but i'm not about to be totally open on Facebook about it, partly because i don't think it's appropriate. People can work it out for themselves if they're curious and i'm not ashamed of it, but to me, it's a detail similar to what position you prefer to make love in, and you wouldn't put that on Facebook, would you? You do basically reveal if you're homo or hetero when you make your profile, but you don't go into more detail.
I guess it comes down to what role this fetish has in your life. Is it who you are or just something you like?
