User Profile Information

The long-delayed site revamp is slowly inching its way toward completion. The big chunks are in place, now it's mainly a matter of getting some details polished. The biggest of these is user profiles. I could just copy the structure of the current user profiles, but they're limited in the info they contain and I'm not sure how useful they are. Does anyone really care what my occupation is?

So my question to you is this: What information would you like to know about your fellow site members?

Keep in mind that all profile fields will be optional. Nobody will be required to post any information in their profile.

Well, more fields related to the community would be nice. Favorite inflated shape, preferred inflation medium, and the like. Also, if the profiles could be linked to the library and gallery, so we could see a user's profile from a picture or story they uploaded, that would attract more attention to them.

Not to sound too stupid, but I'd like to be able to change my e-mail address under registration details. Current set up doesn't let me (the e-mail address I registered with went dark @ 0000 hrs EST today...).

I always thought it would be cool to have something on the profiles to say whether you're an inflatee or an inflator, or both.

Definitely agree with the others. Take out any non-inflation related stuff and put in inflation related stuff. Inflater/inflatee, preferred type of inflation, etc.

It's not a stupid request. It's an issue that periodically pops up. It's a combination technical/security problem. Currently there's no code in place to "re-register" an account to a different email address. And I can't let people change email addresses without verifying that they actually own the new address. Evaluating the potential mischief that could result is left as an exercise for the reader.

So I have to make and confirm email address changes manually. It works like so:
Send me a PM requesting the change to a different email address.
Send me an email from the new email address confirming the change request.

Yes, specific inflation-related fields would be good. Ideally I'd like the profile information to be useful for people to connect with others of similar interests. So it could include things like

Inflation preference: Inflator; Inflatee; Both
Inflation types: Breast; Belly; Butt; Body; Clothing
Popping: No; Clean/Cartoony; Any
Do you like to roleplay?: Yes; No

Just brainstorming with these. I'd love to have more input on them.

Currently I have fields for gender and sexual orientation for those who want to disclose such information. Thus people could avoid the ever-frequent "Are you a woman?" inquiry. And of course there will still be the generic catchall categories like "Interests" where people could describe a specific fantasy or preference.

My only concern about having the gender fiend would be horndogs trolling through profiles and pming everyone who has "female" checked. Don't know if you noticed, but it seems like everytime a woman joins the board, they're instantly swamped with "wanna roleplay?" requests.

Ya but they get ignored and the woman can always keep themselves marked as neither or have no IM options, it is a valid point tho so I guess its up to what is best of rthe majority

i think a section dedicated to role-play would be nice. either a site hosted chat like java or irc, or even just a way to post our RP interests publicly, saving us having to repost everytime a new thread is started...
