I prefere a few different speeds. An instant inflation that rounds you out then taking more of whatever it may be to get bigger and bigger. Size depends really on the quantity of whats taken.
Also I think the slow hissing of Air/Helium filling me as my clothes buldge.
Ultimatly though for me half way through it would be out of my control as i'd get so big i'd lose it.

Pump speeding up, but you should bear in mind that for mathematical reasons that's not always equivalent to an increasing inflation with each pump because each time the pump surges, it has a larger volume to fill. If i've got forty litres of air inside me after one pump and another forty after two, i'm less than twice as big even if my body is completely compliant with the inflation.

I would also say that there's something cool about irregular or unexpected inflation -- the "I think it's stopped...OH WAIT NO IT HASN'T!" trick of the faulty pump is a fun device.

I don't inflate myself, but I prefer slower inflations as opposed to faster ones because I'm more interested in the process than the final result.

It really depends on what mood I'm in at the time and who's on the receiving end.
When it's me-- sometimes I like the idea of a slow, erotic inflation, where I have the opportunity to enjoy feeling myself inflate. Other times I want it fast and hard, where I'm ballooning out of control.
When it's someone else, it's almost always slow, almost torturous. If the person wants popped at the end, it doesn't make any sense to me to speed through it.. nah, I want to savor the moment. :P

Wow, we're an adventurous bunch! It's great to see so many different takes on one kink.
Time for a quick poll about inflation speed and control.
Personally, I prefer pumping varied by the inflator, so it can get much slower when near popping, but I also love a constant, unstoppable slow build up.
