Ignore the basement-dwellers, MG.
The proactive types with the means and motivation to support something like this are a minority in the community, and more so in recent years, but they make up a signifigant chunk of that smaller demographic that supports/funds the creation of content.
That they should somehow not be allowed to have an event like this because others can't get there, or won't want such a thing themselves, and to then claim it to not be in the interest of the community, is not only selfish, but a logic fail which cuts its own throat with its own hypocrisy.
As a long-time member of the community, and one that has contributed to a list of pay sites over those years, stop bashing this venture and claiming or inferring to be speaking on my or anyone else's behalf.

I'm certainly not against the idea, and I can see that theres been a lot of work put into this. Sorry that the community's been so abrasive towards this whole thing, and I still hope it's a sucess for you and the crew.
