Pain after inflating

Alright, since people didn't seem to want to answer I'll try this again. Granted, I think that was because I didn't give enough details, so I'll try to fix that.

So yesterday I decided to try my hand at swallowing air. I've done it a few times before and knew to stop when I felt full. Like an hour or two later, I started feeling this pain in my lower abdomen, on the left side to be specific.

At first it felt like cramping and seemed to be alleviated by burping and/or farting the air out, but now it feels more painful, and seems to hurt even more when trying to sit up or do anything that would involve my lower abdominal muscles.

Even though I've done this before it's been a while since I last tried it, but I don't remember anything about this pain in my stomach.

It would be very appreciated if someone could tell me what's going on.

Patience Bob. This is a message board, not a chat. Replies take time, sometimes minutes, sometimes days, even years. I'd give you advice myself but I know nothing of this technique, so I'm of no use. Just be patient and wait for someone with the required knowledge to come by.

Fill 'er up!

Bob

Alright. Part of it was that I realized I wasn't really giving any useful information, so I decided to make a different post with more detail.

This is not a site for medical advice, go see a doctor.

I'm mean.

Bob

I thought I'd get some advice here before going to a doctor and having to admit that I might have hurt myself because I have a fetish for blowing up like a balloon.

Drybonesx

I understand, but like I said, this isn't a place for medical advice.

I'm mean.

I would reiterate that you need to see a doctor and try to get past the embarrassment and nothing I'm about to say should discourage you from doing that.  If you were in front of me now I would examine you and interview you properly but that's obviously not possible.

Having said that, the situation is likely to be as follows:

When you got the air out of your digestive system, you will have left a few pockets here and there and it will tend to pool particularly at the flexures of your colon, particularly either side of the top of your abdomen.  That can be very painful.  I went through a phase of wondering why the hell I put myself through all that pain and regretting it every time, and also worrying about what I'd done to myself.  However, nothing bad ever happened.  What it amounts to, I think, is that while you're inflated the pressure is equal and balanced, but once you start letting the air out, those little pockets have more room to expand and that's when you get the real pain.

But really, go and see someone professional face to face.
