Female threads, anyone?

I wonder if it makes sense to have threads which everyone can read but only those can post who've chosen "female" in profile?

It won't stop deliberate creeps but will make it harder by a few clicks. What's more important, ladies might feel more secure, and we'll enjoy their company more ^_^

It could be like a user role: those who've chosen "female" can post to any thread, while others can post only to some. On the interface it might be a tag or a checkbox

hmm. clicked once, but had two more BI threads in other tabs. Yandex browser on Windows 10 on PC

I feel like this only invites posers to try to work around the restriction, and even though it seems intended to help our women users I can't help but think it's a little sexist.

And I'm not saying this because I think it's unfair to others of my gender, I just know there'd have to be a "male only" thread option to make it even. Yet that's still pointless. It's counterproductive to the nature of forum culture to section things off from some other side. Even if you're letting people look through the windows and let them read what's being said, they still can't add their two cents even if they might have some relevant things to contribute to the topic. It's limiting potential discussion just to protect a female from being asked a stupid question, or vice versa.

I should ask what benefit you believe these special threads would have with certain topics. Since it's very true that some aspects of inflation matter more to either men or women (like... cock vs. breast inflation being discussed by the appropriate side??? But how often does that come up that we need to control it?).

well yeah, you've put it better than me - " just to protect a female from being asked a stupid question"

because that's all it takes to stop ladies in a thread from posting ^_^

i believe 99% of threads would still be for everyone

Ello there, person with a vagina here, allow me to add my two cents.

While I do appreciate the fact that you're trying to look out for us, This idea is terrible in almost every single way. This is like putting out a fire with gasoline, it's just gonna end poorly and cause more problems than it would resolve. We can take a stupid question or two, It's not the end of the world.

It's just annoying.

Your heart’s in the right place, but such a system would not be workable here.

A site user’s sex is self-reported. People get to be whatever they claim they are, and there’s no means of refuting. There are no genital police patrolling the site, and I certainly ain’t volunteering for the job.

Creating a female-only thread that can’t be enforced will only keep out the decent men. The trolls and others who don’t respect boundaries will still post. So I suspect a female-only thread would actually be worse than the general purpose threads.
