I'll bite. In the beginning they were atrocious.
Through time it seems they have become somewhat respectable in what they do. I'm not on DA anymore so I don't keep too many tabs but I do respect that they seem to have acknowledged and liked some of my work in the past so obviously I'm a little biased.
All that being said the sentiment everyone else here has is right. This really isn't the place to judge individuals. Maybe if InflateChan was still a thing you could go there but that is not so. Cheers.
Edit: I just noticed the Tommy Wisseau remark at the end. Yeah they definitely were that. They seem to have grown out of their shitty art spam though it's seems they're still a tad bit too obsessed with "WWE Divas" or whatever the fuck they're called now. Whatever. They've gotten as good as you can get with mere color change now and it's better to have an over saturation of that in the market than the practically nothing at all that was there when I started at least.

After looking at his page, I can safely say that the Tommy Wiseu remark is incorrect. This guy is the fucking Micheal Bay of expansion artwork, Churning out the exact same shit over and over again, Pandering only to his very select audience.
Still tho, Not the worst expansion artist I've seen. Not by a very, very long shot. That honor goes to ProfessorDoctorC.
For your own safety, I can't recommend looking at her work. It's deceptively horrific.

I probably shouldn't be pissed about this but I just found out that said "artist" waited til I nuked my DA account to do a shitty rendition of what was my second most popular deviation. I put them in an album here. It's not hard to guess which is which.
After looking through my personal photos I realized the vast majority of my deviations were created in a week. Like all in the same singular week. I'm not some talented DA artist or anything but I must wonder what mood I was in to churn out such relatively decent work in such a short period of time. Obviously my motivation died really quick.
I just know that nearly everything I shat out in that one lonely week of being dumb and turning celebrities blue is better than nearly everything this fucker has made period. I admire that they were obviously inspired by some of my work in some way but ugh this just bothers me. Sorry I'm ranting

There's nothing subtle about their work. No attempt at realism. It's splotchy as hell. The colors don't blend. There's no attempt to do something different. At the time I made this deviation pictures with gradual uneven mid-color change were a dime a dozen. The color in theirs is basically uniform. No shadow or tone changes. No lips turning blue through the bubble to add effect. Just nothing. They're devoid of any attempt at artistry. Something.
Nope just a factory turning random celebrities blue. Sigh. I don't have the patience or time to learn good morphing and my time learning how to do semi-believable/decent color change is wasted since people like SB have tarnished the whole concept of blueberry or anything color change on DA. Reasons why on DA "artist" level I'll probably never come back. What I made in that one week was different at the time but I'm afraid I can't catch that lightning in a bottle twice. I'll just focus on my background blueberry stuff I guess.

If I may interject, I DID try doing that, with morphs beign a speciality, and I began with a review of the artist in question, SB.
I had heard this man had influence and an affinity for using his power to attack people, but I never expected such an attack as what incurred on my account.

I reviewed several pieces in his gallery, and I admit on some I was a little harsh, but in others, I cannot deny their effort, however minute. I didn't even fail him. Not once. His work isn't trash, but it needs improvement, and that's exactly what I said with my grading system. I isn't failure, I is improvable. (linked here)

the comments on the review, which I have since deleted because I cannot STAND the amount of hate I got for reviewing his work. They can be summarized by his aggravation and EXTREMELY potent attacks at me, his fanboys basically not even reading the work and hating on me, and ultimately forcing me to delete it just so I can have some peace after cooling it down by bullshitting about whiskey at 3am. I DON'T EVEN DRINK. I HAD TO LIE TO GET ALL OF THEM OFF MY BACK. Best part is, he suspected a dude I know and I'm pretty sure assumes he did it. That still confounds me.
I have since been deterred from posting at all. The man has literally driven me from continuing what I desire to do, and review images, all because I gave him an overall I grade on his profile in general. I even admit it, I was a little harsh, but given how he treats people and holds himself, it's not unwarranted. Currently, there's a HUGE rise in what has been deemed "collage style" morphs, in which celebs and images are taken from their contexts, distorted, added to, subtracted from, and reimagined in some rather creative methods, HOWEVER I literally kcannot document this, or review this for fear of backlash.
Worst part is, I can't change it either. I can't repost it. I can't go back in time. I can't stop myself from opening this bag of worms that led to such a position I'm in. I'd love to publish my piece in partnership with aggroh on the popularity of blueberry content and the history of inflation, it's a big project I really wanna do, but I really can't because of this huge fear.
I will admit too, I'm a terrible person, I'm flawed, I'm not perfect, I spit on the sidewalk and I don't recycle, I'm not God, and I definitely have a place in hell, but for the love of all that is sacred I did not deserve the backlash I got. I don't know how many times I've apologized, its never enough for that guy, he eats the negativity, and spits out confidence. He'll criticize or beg for comments on his works, but won't give shit when he does and almost feels as though he looks down on people. I may be biased, but I damn well KNOW I'm not the only one who thinks this.
btterflies, you are amazing, and had I been on dA sooner, I'd have loved to review some of your morph work. You produced a piece I still adore looking at, Selena Gomez as violet beauregarde, something I never knew I needed till I saw it.
Now she's everywhere. some are great. some aren't. I'm nearly done with it all.

Research through public inquiry and private exchanges through a multitude of means, all legal and non-discriminatory, to further understand the tensions and labels, as well as the divisions in the specific community I have been observing for more than many of you are aware. I am doing so to better understand the sociological structure and predict what is the best course of action to take in the event of a falling out between major and minor parties to better preserve myself and others.

that being said, there is a rise in lazy art, a lot of which has to do with this artists popularity and replication of many artists pictures, unintentionally or not.
if I am not mistaken, earlier in the post, you said he may have replicated a pic you made after you took it down. others are not as fortunate.
he steals art, or makes shameful downgrades of art en masse and floods a market. then his fanboys praise him and condemn anyone with the slightest criticism. his tutorials teach nothing, his recolors add nothing, and while he retains the right to produce it, he is slowly becoming the very thing he points out in others:

I may be looking to turn the tides and produce quality work, like my associates have for years. I may be looking to leave the community altogether and lurk once more.

In all honesty Sbbeauregarde isn't the Tommy Wiseau of the inflation community, because Tommy Wiseau was at least so bad he was good.
Sbbeauregarde is just bad. The vast majority of his works consist of one of two things: Lazy headswaps of the same old inflation pictures, or pictures of girls with their skin turned blue, no expansion at all.
He, or she or they repeatedly deny any form of constructive criticism, and seem to think that they're one of the better inflation photoshoppers there is.
His attempts at literature aren't much better from what I've seen. They drag on and on with absolutely nothing happening for paragraphs on end, and they manage to make the actual act of blueberrification more like something out of a snuff film, going into almost sadistic detail about the amount of pain the inflatee is suffering.
All in all, they're like the bottom of the barrel in the community, at least as far as I know. I'd be more lenient if they at least had a nice personality, but they don't even have that.

I've taken all of your critics under serious consideration and I'll try to move forward to better artwork. Everyone on this website is entitled to their opinion and if they feel that I'm just a crappy person who makes lousy re-colourings and shitty literature, then that's fine. You're entitled to your opinion and I respect that right. As Btterflies has said my art at the very start was atrocious and I do agree with him. However, my art is getting slightly better as time goes on. It might be baby steps but it's steps nonetheless.
When I mentioned Luvemripe and Faridae, I mentioned that I looked up to them as inspirations and wanted to get to their level. I am nowhere near close to the level of morphs that they produce. I can wholeheartedly agree that I'm a nobody compared to them. Just in response to editing the picture of Victoria Justice, I really badly wanted to morph that image for a very long time. I'd have asked for your permission but you blocked me, so I went ahead and morphed it. I was going for a rash attempt but clearly failed. Still, I enjoyed making the morph.
As well as that. I'm not the king of this place, no chance in hell. I'm just a tiny part of this community. I don't really understand where this notion that I'm the greatest came from but if there are examples do point them out to me, so I could learn from the mistakes I made.
The main thing is that I enjoy making my artwork and stories, they bring joy to my busy life and allow me to explore and expand my ideas that are in my head. I enjoy discussing stories with others and learning about new ideas and thoughts that roam around in the community. Personally, I think we should spend less time saying about how crappy some artists are and actually help them out. You guys have given me back constructive feedback that my art is not to a good standard and in response I'm going to try to make my art better.

Thanks for chiming in. Sorry for being hostile. Ultimately it’s not “my picture”. It’s Victoria’s so I can’t realy complain much at all. I appreciate your effort though. I just let the atmosphere inflame me a bit. Sorry.
I think your stories are great they just need to be way less wordy and probably a little more originality. The tour trope is dead so the only way to do it properly is to do something different. Unfortunately I think celebrities are too overdone. My opinion is if you want to do it you should make some OCs. Base them off of people you know. It’s hella fun. Also I must thank you. I thought I was the only person obsessed with the concept of a girl getting rolled over her head. You really beat that horse to death and for me anyway I like it. The criticism that your literature is “torture porn” is severely unfair. That’s kind of the whole underlying point behind blueberry stuff. It’s a woman getting what she deserves and being ridiculed for it.
These are all just my two cents. You’ve shown a level of self awareness in this post and frankly coherence that’s painfully absent from nearly every other comment I’ve seen from you. I think at this point it would behoove you to keep communicating like this. It will earn you a lot more respect. Your art was trash in the beginning and you admit it. Let bygones be bygones. As someone who also could get raked through the coals over their blind ambition from years ago I sympathize with you. Idk what this new “drama” is but I hope it sorts itself out. I appreciate the words and feedback on the stories. Any advice from someone like yourself whose been in the community for a while is great. I can try doing so with the stories. The tour stuff is overdone as well as celebrities, I can definetly agree with you on that. I tried to make the two tour series that I did differ more from the movies and other stories on DA. I do agree about OC's. I did a series filled with OC's called BuruBeri Note. Feel free to have a glance at it (apologies in advance for promoting artwork).
Thanks again for this advice. I'll try to use this new type of communication from now on. This new drama is messy. It involves friendship and a suicidal girlfriend, I'd advise just to ignore it as both parties are in the wrong here. I'm trying to find a compromise in order to stop a division with the community.
