Get over yourself. People roleplay as different genders all the time, and is a key way of exploring gender identity in a safe manner. If you can't handle that, then the problem isn't with the other person involved.

Two things, in all seriousness:
1.) There's a generational gap at work here, I think. Many young adults use Discord; if you're used to the days of AIM or Yahoo Messenger, I imagine it's hard to acclimate to the fast, free-flowing nature now. Rarely I think are people going "I'm gonna lie to fuck with this guy's head! >:D" when they put on personas though, because like it's been said earlier here, these young adults are experimenting with their identities and sexualities. Lies are often made up by an individual to be defensive for their own sake, rather than take advantage of someone else (and in this latter case, if it's actual predation, these folks deserve to be put down). I'd say digital natives are accustomed to it overall by now, in managing real and fake selves.
2.) Getting catfished does suck, especially if you built genuine friendships with the people you met. Things can flip on their head; I didn't expect it when I started roleplaying for a time but I had to accept it as a fact of life and move on. I have nothing else more to add than that.
