Works in progress...

OK, let's get this party started. Here's the current state of Luther Kane's works. I often tell people that I have a number of stories planned and in progress at any given time. I figure I'll give people a snapshot of what's sitting in my "In Progress" folder at any given time.

Finished, in need of polishing and formatting before they're posted:

The Duel -- This story was originally written for the inflation story contest for the Pop-In Yahoo groups. A sorcerer named Cal was Bound into servitude when he was defeated by a rival wizard, and he was forced to assist in the summoning of the Belly Demon. His master gained great power while the demon was under control, but all hell breaks loose when she breaks free...

An Evening with Holly II -- Yes, the original Holly story was woefully short on plot, but I had fun writing it and you had fun reading it, and the lady for whom it was written enjoyed it as well, so I wrote another one.

A few stories that are partially written:

Horace's Curse III -- When I wrote the first installment of this story almost a decade ago I envisioned it as having at least three parts with each one growing successively darker. One of the reasons this one took so long is that for the longest time I didn't think I could pull it off. It's not finished yet, so I guess I still can't. In this installment we discover the full extent of Horace's Curse. We also get a glimpse into the hearts of Kevin, Derek, and Valerie. What we find isn't always pleasant.

To Praise the Wind -- A singer is blessed by the wind with a supernatural voice. She seeks out the true name of the Wind in order to sing its praises in gratitude, and she finds the experience to be far more fulfilling than she ever imagined.

Word Play -- This one I started long ago and never finished because I flip-flop as to whether the idea is just too darned silly. It's entirely dialogue. Man calls a store that specializes in custom lingerie to order a brasierre for his unusually busty wife. When he asks if they carry any in size 80QQ, the saleswoman attempts to determine what this woman's size really is, and how it is she managed to get that way.
