So who else is really looking forward to the new wonka film just to see the new blueberry inflation scene? :)
Willy wonka
Well yeah, Johnny Depp is an amazing actor and I want to see the movie just for the purpose of seeing the movie.
I don't really want to see Johnny inflate though. lol
don't worry, he won't inflate. just the loud mouth brat by the name of violet.
by the way, are there any blueberry infalation affiacandos (Sp?)out there?
if so, ya wanna write a story with me?
or make a story of your own?

From what I heard, Violet is going to get MASSIVE. The actrss said something about having to be hoisted 14 feet in the air for the scene, if I recall.
Nothing could possibly keep me from seeing this movie, short of dying. But even then...
I don't know...
The girl playing Violet this time round seems a lot younger than Denise was when she was Violet.
Yeah, I know. :( I'm slightly dissapointed about that. I would have been most happy if the girl was like 19 years old or soemthing. That would be awesome, but then I guess the movie would not be accurate. O well.
I wonder how closely they'll follow the book this time around. The original took some interesting liberties with the book that I actually liked. At the end where Willy 'tests' Charlie and his dad from messing up his factory was a better ending than the book IMO.
I am looking forward to the film a lot just because I liked the original and I like Johnny Depp and Tim Burton together, but I am most curious to see how they will handle the expansion scene. I am surprised no teaser photos have been released.
There has been a T.V. teaser that suposidly has a glimps of Violet as a blueberry. I have seen this teaser. For about one or two seconds you can see a giant, round purple mass moving off the screen. You can only see a little bit of her body, but many come to conclude, its violet. And shes huge!
Hey guys, I suggest you keep an eye on this site which is run by fans of Tim Burton:
http://www.timburtoncollective.com/charlie.html
They have links to the trailers and news of the upcoming movie. No Blueberry shots I'm afraid though :(
Great find by Luther, a clip from the TV spot with a shot of the Violet Blueberry:
I'm still on the lookout for an online version of the TV spot, and after seeing this I'll have to look harder!
Superb! Thanks Luther, that was a great find. There's only a glimpse of Violet, but I love the Oompah Loompahs bouncing up and down on her. Looks like it's going to be good.
Here's another tailer:
Final Charlie and the Chocolate Factory Trailer
No Blueberry scenes, but shows more of the film than any of the other trailers so far.
Judging by the scenes from the trailer with the actual blueberry expansion, it looks like she's still expanding. This should be interesting on how big she'll get in this movie.
I cannot wait for this film to come out. Disppointed that she not wearing a belt and buttons this time round. Just really look forward to watch her swell up into a blueberry :D
If anybody would like to talk to me about blueberries or inflation on msn messenger just add me on your contact list :D my e-mail address is in my profile of course
Most of the kids from the film have been given websites, here's Violets:

There are some fan pictures of her in the gallery section, and I think a few concept drawings.
excellent find
This isn't about the movie but it's about the book. Anyway didn't the older editions of the book have better illustrations of the Blueberry scene?
I think I remember getting a passing glance at an older copy of the book once but nowadays the newest editions use that Quentin Blake guy's ugly artwork and the Blueberry scene looks really bad.
As far as I'm aware Blake had been illustrating Dahl's books for as long as they were published. I had copies of all Dahl's books in the mid 80s and they were all illustrated by Blake. (who interestingly enough was appointed Children's Laureate in 1999). I did find about an early American edition in the 60s though illustrated by someone different, so I imagine you must be talking about that.
I would be mildly surprised if during researching the movie, they hadn't found this and/or other inflation sites and discover what a following that scene has in the inflation community.
The new Violet scene might be made partly with us in mind. They sure are making something of it without showing very much.
It seems blue-tinted glasses or not, this is one of the movie's highlights.
Let's see if, like the original but even more so (depending on how it looks), it awakens something in a new generation that will cause the ranks of the inflation community to swell.
...The new Violet scene might be made partly with us in mind...
Uhm...don't think me a jackass...but that's just wishful thinking. I think this community is fairly "out-of-the-way" and it will be a while before it is discovered...it most probably has, but hasn't warrented any sort of attention (like a documentary on the BBW community that was on UK television earlier this year >_>). If the community wants recognition then it will need to devote itself to growing. Chatrooms are a good start since they were what brought people together back during the "bronze-age" of the community. Anywho, unless the actress playing violet or some other celeberity comes out and publicly says they have a fetish for inflation (Something that I highly doubt will happen) then this community will be just like the Giant Squid in my kitchen...we know it's there...but we choose not to pay it any attention <_< >_>
You've been watching too much family guy :)
Sort of to do with the movie, but not the inflation part.
I nearly fell off my chair with laughter at that clip posted above with the line from Depp "Don't touch that squirrels nuts!"
How many kids will see that and not have a clue?! Hehehe.
It's not wishful thinking at all. On the contrary in fact, since I'm inclined to think that the relative obscurity of this community is probably in it's best interests.
Take another look at LV's comments on the front of this site about the importance of anonymity when involved in this kind of thing. Ask CattyN or most of the other inflation artists at Deviantart about how so many other supposedly open-minded fetishists or otherwise react very negatively to the notion of BI - a generally light-hearted and harmless genre which tends not to confuse fantasy and real life, mostly avoids outright nudity and adult themes nor goes around bugging people outside the community to come and see. It's for this reason nobody involved with the movie would make any reference to our interest. The controversy that would ensue from any demonstrably sexual connotations that could be attributed to the scene would be huge. That it's there at least to some is irrelevant as long as they have plausible denial - ie "We never knew about this. It's from the book - she turns into a blueberry...Next question!"
What I was saying (and still am) was that there's a distinct possibility that, given the leg-work that goes into a major release, there's a fair chance some inflation sites/ groups/forums/artists were seen by the researchers.
For instance; in just the first two pages of Googling "Violet Beauregarde" I see a link to EXBLUE at MSN and two to dimesionsmagazine.com with direct reference to Inflation. It becomes very quickly apparent that the character and scene have a notable following, and by more than a few because of the expansion (though not necessarily always with an inflation/expansion bent as such).
During the mandatory "How should we do this prominent scene...?" phase, there's little to go on unless you come across an archive of inflation scenes from cartoons, TV and movies. Ta-Dahh! Inflate 123 and StormrsZone for a start. I'm sure paid researchers know what Links do....
Then artwork places like this give even more insight because of drawings and the feedback they receive. What little we've seen of the tail end of the expansion so far looks somewhat reminiscent to me of Johnny Swell's BerryGirl comic along with a hint of a couple of others.
If going and filming giraffes, rhino's and such to try to figure out how a T-Rex might move for Jurassic Park, then developing new technology and techniques to make it seen is par for the course, then a few hours online finding all this stuff seems a pretty likely scenario to me.
While firmly rooted in reality, envisioning this reasonably possible situation, real or otherwise, is simply fun to contemplate. I share it here as a small contribution to this community, since I know others would like the idea too. I don't really see the point in pouring on cold water as if it's doing some sort of favour. :?
Let's just enjoy the possiblity without resorting to subjective (at best) and pointless percentages and just enjoy the fantasy, which is why we're here in the first place.

BTW, I have no idea what the "Family Guy" reference means since we don't see it here, so I don't know it it's aimed at me or the post after mine. Either way, I'll take it as good natured ribbing for the sake of this not turning into a big pointless debate (though I'd still rather leave it to the FA's at DA).
And yeah..."Don't touch that squirrel's nuts..!" cracked me up too.
True...true point srflour, can't argue that n_n
Mogman's been watching too much Family Guy, there was a giant squid in their kitchen too.
Aha! It all makes sense now. Looks like I'll have to settle for Boston Legal and Happy Tree Friends.
I'm still trying to train my regular size squid to refill the cartridge in my inkjet printer...

Whether it's just nice to contemplate or not, that's still a silly argument Srflour.
- Wonka film project -
- Art department meeting #17 -
"So, any ideas on how we should do the
blueberry scene?"
"Hey, I found these people on the internet who masturbate to the old version of Violet turning into a blueberry. Let's see how they'd handle it!"
"Yeah! That's a sensible base for our ideas!"
"Can Violet have huge breasts?"
"Sure! Why not?"
"Can we cut to a shot of Wonka with a bulge in his pants?"
"Hey, it can't hurt!"
What's silly, apart from your own post, is splitting hairs and heading off the topic.
It's moved on and I'm not going to be goaded into any of the sort of carry-on that spoils so many forums.
I'm done with this unimportant diversion and will move on.
Back to Inflation -
You tell it like it is brother-man! XD It is nice to think they made it with us in mind...but it doesn't need that much research to do a scene like that. What? you think they'd have some moron who'd make her inflate into a cube or cone or something because he doesn't know what should happen? The fact remains that cartoons are a better source for any research that would be needed...but again, you don't need a freaking degree in rocket science to say how a person would turn into a blueberry ¦P
Case closed... ¦D
I'm more interested in the fact that it's going to be Johnny Depp, but that's just me.
-edited for horrible spelling on my part-
