I think the name is colourist, but I can be mistaken. Hmm... thats a cool pic. I'd give it a try, but I'm a lot busy lately.
Any Colourizers?
Heck I don't know what the proper term is, but basically I've done my first inflation picture and wondered if anyone out there would like to colour it in?
I've tried myself but it ends up looking even more 2D than before. If anyone can do it I'll post it to the gallery at this site.
Here's a link to the image:

No sweat if it can't be done, but I'd like to try and learn how to colour in to make it look 3D myself.
Thanks
Bob
Thanks DwarfPriest and no problems. I'd like to have done the whole picture myself but being a colourist  doesn't seem to be what I'm good at.
And funkyjrtb it's great of you to volunteer. As for which colours, well I'll leave that up to you as I'm sure you'd make a more appropriate choice that I would.
Thanks again.
Bob
it's gonna take me a little bit, seeing as how my computer is going in for repairs tomorow, and i probably won't have it back for a week/ week and a half. I'll get to work on it then.
Nice pic Bob! Is she Melissa from 'The Cargo' or is she just some random character?
I've noticed you tend to be a big fan of inflating women in skin-tight bodysuits.

Thanks Funkyobrian. I must admit that at first I thought I'd try and do a picture of Melissa, but I tried to do all the writing on her suit and with a 'hood' she looked to much like a man 8O. So now she's just a random character. Besides if it was Melissa from 'The Cargo' I'd have to post her on my site next to the picture you drew. That'd be too much pressure! Your rendition is absolutely superb!
As for my fascination with expanding ladies in lycra, well the two seem to go hand in hand.

Hey, there's no hurry funkyjrtb, take as much time as you like. I'm just pleased that you offered to help.
My rendition? I think your a bit confused, I haven't done a pic of Melissa yet. You're thinking of the pic Axle Rosered did of her. The pic is actually the project of a trade he and I did. I asked him to draw a favorite scene from my favorite inflation story and vice-versa. Although I really should do a pic of her since I enjoy that story so much. Seriously it inspired a lot of my stories Bob.
Just wondering Bob, do you have any other stories planned?

Do'h! **Smacks forehead**
Of course! Sorry about that Funkobrian, but I'm glad you asked Axel Rosered to do it. He did a great job!
But one of the reasons I haven't posted my coloured in picture is because of some work YOU did. Axel Rosered sent it to you and you coloured it for him on your Deviant Art site. I am so jealous of that shiny effect you managed!
Glad you liked 'The Cargo'. I'd had a few ideas for stories, but not started on them yet. They're all in my head at the moment, so I'll have to find time to put pen to paper.
I'd love it if another great artist like yourself drew a picture of Melissa. To be honest one of the reasons aI started my website is because I started finding references to 'The Cargo' on various boards and groups and thought it might be time to share the story with illustrations with people. I was also lucky to have a fan of 'Voolg' illustrate that too. If you've got some stories inspired by it I'd love to read them.
Cheers
Bob
I just got my computer back today, so i'll get to work on this as soon as i get everything back onto it
Cool. Thanks Funkyjrtb. I'm actually working on another picture at the moment, but hopefully when I've sen waht you've done with this one I might be able to colour it myself properly.
alrighty, here you go. Hopefully it's good enough.

Woo.... looks very good, FunkyJ.
Sorry I couldnt work on it, Bob.
8O WOW 8O
Great job Funkyjrb! She looks so much more ROUND now! When I tried colouring her in it just looked so flat and dull.
How do you guys manage to make the shadows and highlights, like the hair stand out? When I tried that I couldn't make it look rounded. What's the secret?
Also, I'll post it to the gallery here.
Thanks again!!!
I wish I didn't have such a hard time explaining how I color things...
Um, the secreat to shadows and hair are the placement and buildup. Normally, I'll draw out the shadows in their color until they look right on a seperate layer in photoshop, then crop them out with the pen tool, refill the selection, the gaussian blue it to my liking. Highlight are normally done with a light flow with the airbrush tool until i like the way they look.
Yeah, i suck at trying to explain these things... much easier to show...

Ahhhh...
I'm using MS Photodraw, so I don't think the same techniques apply. Although the machine at work that I use for scanning has Photoshop Elements, but I don't think they'd let me use it for doing this sort of stuff.
Does anyone use Photodraw to do illustrations like this or am I wasting my time with it?
Thanks for the description of how you managed to do it though.
Bob
supposidly Gimp is like a free version of photoshop. Maybe you'd like to give it a look see.

Thanks for the link, but that looks a bit too complex for a simple doofus like myself
One of my RL buddies might be able to help me out (he's the guy that did my avatar). I know he does a lot of graphic work so he could probably help out with getting me a cheaper (and probably older) version of Photoshop.
I've already started a few more sketches in the meantime. Probably only one will be any good, but I'll let you guys know.
Thanks
Bob
i guess i'll give it a try. any color preferences?
