Just wondering if anyone knows any scenes where belts, buttons and that kind of stuff is popped off during an inflation... A friend got me looking and I can't really think of that many.
I can think of Wonka and the new "collector" torrent people are desperate to get there hands on but no more.

In National Lampoon's European Vacation, the daughter has a dream sequence where she expands from eating too much. It ends with her struggling as she swells, and several buttons pop off of her shirt.

i remember in The Naked Gun i forget which one,Frank Drebbin (Leslie Neilsen)is being attacked by a guy in a hallway,during the fight Drebbin takes a nearbye fire hose and put it in the guys mouth and turns on the watr full blast and breaks the Valve,so it can't be turned off anyway the guy starts to inflate as he does the buttons on his outfit shoot off like bullets,and he gets so inflated that water begins to squirt threw his chest.
Theres a story here that changes that character to female...but of course, thats a story not a clip...lol

Yeah. Well, its inflation in the sense we use it here, cuz in the story, just like in the movie, the assasin fills with water. Because water inflation, literally, doesnt really exist. lol That used to bother me when I started browsing this kind on web page. I was like "its not inflation, shes using water!! what a scam!!" lol

Well, in the dictionaries I have, it specifically said with gas. I remember cuz I used to look it up to justify myself. "to fill with gas". Of course, they also say "to pump up, swell", which water can do of course. Ill look up the ethymology of the word, since the discussion sort of got me interested. lol
yeah, the etymology of it doesnt suggest air specifically, although it does refer to blow...so Im onto something there I think. :)
so how does weight gain inflation fit into the whole inflation fetish?
I depends how it happens... in some ways it's a whole different fetish, especially when it involves people putting on weight naturally, it's more rooted in real life and real fat fetishes. There is crossover as both inflation and weight gain are size related and there are instances of WG taking a leaf out of inflation's book, and expanding the subject much quicker than is possible in real life. Here it takes a step away from your normal fat admirer's fetish in becoming more fantastical. Some people (Dwarf I'm looking in your general direction here) have a very general size fetish and like both fat and inflation... I guess it is from these people that the crossover of rapid WG comes, but to many inflationists it is a totally different fetish and not of any interest whatsoever, and there are many weight gain fans who have no interest in inflation. It depends on the individual but even though there are people who like both, I would definitely say that the two fetishes have their origins in different places (balloons and fat admiring) so you can see at the other side of inflation there is a cross-over with balloon fetish, but there wouldn't be a direct link between balloon fetish and fat admiring... only through the intermediates of body inflation and rapid weight gain. That is my take on it anyway.
Yeah, what Carnatic said. WG is just similar with inflation as it is expansion related. But in essence, there's this main diference:
*Inflation: Subject (or victim) inflating with a substance, like a balloon.
*Weight gain: the subject (or once again, victim) gains bodily mass, like adding more rubber to a balloon's skin.

Wow Carnatic...you put a lot of thought into it. lol I for one dont have a thing for balloons, though a girl with a balloon is kinda hot, but only because in the back of my mind Im sort of picturing her sort of getting the idea to inflate someone by looking at her precious balloon.

lol, I don't have a thing for balloon either, but I'm pretty sure inflation fetish came from balloons originally. i.e. if there was no such thing as balloons (or pool-toys or anything else that inflates) there would probably be no inflation fetish. I imagine there would still be a weight gain fetish, having come from fat admiring, but without the inflation fetish, weight gain may not have adopted the idea of rapid WG.
WG and inflation are alike, but, with my experience here, the reasons why we like it are different, at least on a large scale, cuz individually we each have likes and dislikes. But it is dissimilar also in that when I picture inflation in my mind, Im not thinking of those large rolls of fat the WG fans like, cuz, "like a balloon" I like it to be just a little literal. She inflates taught and puffy, lol.

I do remember the a scene in "Monty Python's The Meaning of Life", where this really fat guy swells up and explodes from eating one bit too many. The way they do it makes it look like someone made him swallow a CO2 canister, hehehe.
Not entirely clean though, for it's rather graphic. But the whole skit is funny enough to make it well worth the watch. I'll never tire of British humor.
