Trump to Stern: “She blew up in all the right places.

Dunno if anybody else caught the Howard Stern show on Wednesday (12/7), but Donald Trump was on and used some verbiage that caught my attention sharply even as I was half asleep. From howardstern.com's small show recap of the day:

Quote:
Howard wondered if Donald still found his wife, Melania, attractive now that she’s five months pregnant. Donald replied that there’s something sexy about pregnant women in general, but that Melania took the look to a new level because she “blew up in all the right places.

The thing that struck me was that he used that exact phrase several times and added "like a blimp" at least once. The inflation metaphor was intentional, robust, and repeated.

Hmmm.

Probably would have caught my attention too...

Hmmm. He'd make a good ambassador for Inflation (note the capital 'I').

Maybe Stern will make a comedy skit about this sometime. He needs a sequel to breast expansion after all.

"Continue the research..."

Wonder if he ever goes here...

A quick skim via Google shows that the enterainment press was rather horrified by The Donald's characterizarion of his wife as a "blimp" and "monster," although all of the direct quotes I've seen indicate pretty clearly that he's just using hyperbole and is nothing but pleased with the recent developments:

"You know, they just blow up, right?...Like a blimp - in the right places. In her case, the right places. I mean she really has become a monster - in all the right places...I mean monster in the most positive way. She has gotten very, very large - in all the right places."

I also find his blimp metaphor quite fascinating. It was about ten years ago (damn I'm old) that I wrote Donna's New Look. The billionaire tycoon character, Nicholas Grandenberg, was inspired in part by Donald Trump. Mr. Grandenberg's signature phrase: "You're fired."

That was in 1995. The Apprentice first aired in 2004.

Of course, inall likelihood this is all pure coincidence. It's still fun to think about.

Absolutely. He was practically bragging. It was very clearly intended as a "I am so lucky, this is exactly what I like" kind of thing. The entertainment press can take it however they like it, but the original context was extremely complimentary.
