Out of the Fizzics Lab

What I'm interested in here is a few new ideas that I've toyed with in this picture, I was wanting to know how they went down.

1) The background, I never used to do backgrounds, this is my 2nd picture of this general style that I have drawn a background for. The other one being 'Prank Call' (on carnatic.deviantart.com) but that was fairly rushed, with a rudimentary floor and a plan background. I took more time over this one putting background people in it and trying to make it look like a bar or night club with flashing lights. I also used a dark background and coloured it green as that was the only colour I hadn't really used in the rest of the drawing. I wanted to keep the overall drawing fairly colourful without it becoming gaudy.

2) The arc of the inflatee's body. Following CattyN's tutorial, I began this one by drawing an arc, arching back, then drawing the stick figure around the arc and from there, as normal I drew a balloon figure around the stick figure and used the balloon figure as a base for drawing clothing, flesh and other details like hands, feet and the face. I want to know, can the arc which influences it all be seen, is the inflatee's position 'natural'?

3) bubbles where I normally just draw escaping gas, indicating that she is being blown up by gas fizzing up inside her... does it look right?

Hmm do you have a pic so far? As for arching, it depends on how you draw it. ALot of the pcs I've seen, whgile good, are not natual. THeir bellies looking like smeone glued a beahcball on them..thye should be arhing but the strain should be shown on other limbs and legs. Bubbling, well I dunno slight probably not overdone heh.

The arch is good when the person's front is swelling up. If you make her float all over (back too) formaing a bigger ball, she's likely to have her back straight. The fizzle balls are good, and you could make it looks like they are actualy escaping someplace, usualy her mouth.
For backgrounds, I suck at it, so no suggestion :p

Ah I forogt background...just find an image of a lab or workplace, convert it to a vector, and use some cell shading and blurring to make it flow with your picture, and lower the opacity and place it over a balck background so yuor character is the main focus.

actually I'm not a big fan of backgrounds when you can clearly see that it was just a photo that's been digitised. As yet I'm not working with vectors, I drew the background to this one by hand on the paper along with the rest of it. As for the bubbles, I'm not entirely sure how in this case I would make it look like they were coming out of her mouth becuase her mouth isn't visible. I'll bear in it mind next time I draw bubbles and her mouth is visible.
What do you mean by a pic so far Gokuson? the pic is complete and is here http://www.deviantart.com/view/26571111/

Hmm yea looks good. It's hard to draw the way they would look proportionally and the strains. You could look a someone in a catsuit, which might help but I like this. If you are oging to edit it, I would seperate her breasts so you can see her mouth, and puff her cheeks and put a tad bit of foam there, and use a brush to make "dimples" on he apex of her stomach to show bubbles =)

I'm not going to edit it. Also (no offense becuase I can see your ideas are perfectly good technically for achieveing those effects) but I would rather my inflatee's skins were smooth as opposed to dimpled becuase of bubbles inside, I have a personal preference for the breasts pushed right up into the face with the top stretched between) thank's anyway, it's just personal preference. :)
