Plants, animals, insects?

I remember watching the cartoon Jumanji when I was a kid and one episode had Allen getting sent to this nightmare world. At one point, he's in this field of giant flowers and one latches onto his face and inflates him.

I think things like that should start making their way into inflation stories. Plants that inflate people by latching onto them or with their pollen, animals and insects with with bites or something that inflate people. You know, just add some spice into the inflation process. Helium tanks and air pumps are good, but they just get boring after awhile. I think some freaky inflation stuff like this would make some great stories.

Those things have been done to varying degrees of success. Sixstar's one series of stories is based on genetically altered bees though I can't remember the name of the story. But you're right, it isn't done nearly as often and would make for some interesting imagery.

The stories in question would be One Nasty Sting and Another Nasty Sting.

Actually, the plant idea would fit with a story plot I've had swimming around in my head for a while.

Care to elaborate?

I myself have a digimon inflation story that involves a plant, but I want to see how other people use it before I finish the story.

Since plants and insects are not persons, so it wouldnt be the greatest thing for me.

If you are interested, read Snake In the Grass. A snake sheds skin by inflating a woman with its bite, then sucking the air out and inflating itself.

I keep saying it. I dont agree with helium tanks and pumps "getting bored after a while", because honestly, a story with a tank or pump is very rare, especially nowadays. Not that there are only a handful, but its been a long time since Ive read a new one involving a tank. People have so many fetishes they merge em together and people get inflated by really bizarre means I mostly dont care for. I said mostly. I didnt say never. Its still inflation.

Technically speaking, we've had plant-based expansions for years now. Thank Willy Wonka for that.

I'm all for more diverse methods of inflation, but it's important to remember that making the story increasingly surreal isn't always the best way to improve the overall quality.

...That's not so much here or there, but I don't know when I'll next have a chance to point that out. Carry on.

Hajile's right. It's best to put surreal or anything else "interesting" if it connects to the story somehow and not just being surreal for surreal's sake.

I think there's a "berry bush" sequence in the image gallery here.

Hmm, this got me wonder, what has been used by writers and artists as the cause of inflation and how often (don't think we'll ever know that, unless someone has all the inflation stories/art and has time to waste to compile the data.)

So many inflation drawings lack flow/life, they are just a girl standing around with a hose stuck somewhere and large whatevers.

I know they've also used flowers on two occasions that caused Sonic the Hedgehog to blow up. Once in the Archie comics and another time on one of his tv shows. In Ed, Edd, and Eddy, Ed was allergic to rabbits and his exposure to them cause him to expand. The venom in bee stings have also been used to puff up characters to varying degrees.

I'm sure there's more examples out there but this is just a few that I've seen.
