Has anyone come across anything like this in the past? I've heard the project would take huge amounts of investment in time (around 10,000 hours total), but it would be pretty cool. I imagine it would be a place where players are normal characters who avoid getting turned into whatever kind of transformation girl attacks them. Alternatively, they can choose a girl form and seek out other players, etc.
transformation MMORPGs?
Umm...why would I be avoiding it? I would be looking forward to being transformed. XD
Actually, inflated, more than just transformed.
Hmm, now that I've read this and what it's about, I think it's an awesome idea! Maybe do something a little different with MMORPG's, maybe also try different plots and settings as well.
Theres an MMO called Toontown, where you create a toon. Anyone know if theres inflation there?
Hi Darth,
A friend of mine is a member of ToonTown and he told me there is no inflation possibilities there. I always think it is a good idea to rp about inflation. Maybe we could start a pbm.
Try this link:
http://www.tfroleplay.us/
It is a text RPG site, but we can add new ends and possibilities. Maybe you find some inflation there.
Thanks.
Someone made a YouTube video of a character gaining weight and exercising it off, but that's something different.
I'd love to see something like that...I wouldn't make an inflation-based character first, though, when I could easily make one that becomes a giant and kicks ass.
APACHE CHIEF, INUKCHUK!
Does anybody have an idea on how to get started? I have some pretty decent programming skills...
Any other programmers out there?
There are several Free MMO engines out there. Most are 2d I believe I've seen on that's 3d, just do some google searches.
Plan out your game in extreme detail. A comprehensive design doc is the most important step. Don't have that, and your team will fall apart in no time.
Just some quick pointers...
Hmm...something like this already exists. I used to be a member of FurryMUCK, which is an all-text MMO in modern parlance, and the inflation community was active and somewhat randy there. I was AirHare. I stopped playing because they suddenly said "No AOL accounts!" and they didn't allow Hotmail, Yahoo etc either. So the "domainism" caused me to stop playing cold turkey. Maybe they've changed.

Actually I'm a 2nd quarter student in ITT Tech, and is actually helping others learn VB.net. Plus, I decent in 3d modeling and art. But I'm haven't touch language like C and C++ yet, and still a rookie at 3d modeling. ^_^;
Furcadia has 2 dreams about inflation. Maybe we could create something at Habbo.
I wonder, If we could gather together some artist for sprites, a few coders, and some good writers we could probably make a transformation based MMO that's not the usual text/furcadia knock-off adventure.
Something similar to what mod teams do now days. A 2d MMO would be very doable if the community lended it's collective support.
What do you guys think? I'm gonna start looking up some free MMO engines because there are a few out there that are easy to use. Heck this whole fantasy is about dreaming big so why not apply that philosophy to a game, assuming the interest is there of course.
I dont know how to do anything that may help you in that field, but damn it, I can speak for the whole community when I say this is something we'd all like.
I would love to help, but I dont know how!!!
Somebody start taking names and assigning duties! lol
Here's the deal, I'll start a Yahoo group to start looking for people interested and start collecting ideas. If a project gets going, then we get a proper webpage for it.
To do this right, a game needs to be thought out, battle system, art style, locations, ect. Anybody will be able to help at that point since anybody can give ideas. After a design doc has been made, then we get into the business of actually making the game.
Group created at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/mmorpgtf.
Sign up if your interested. I'll put more info, request up there soon. Let's see if we can make this happen.

that first link messed up
I'll look into the free MMORPGs...I would probably need help mostly from the artists. PM me if you'd like to work on some sprites.
I'm glad to see the interest, and it looks worth pursuing!
can someone recommend a good 2d mmorpg game engine (free ones, of course)? I'm considering playerworlds at the moment, but experience is always appreciated before I dive in.
ahh...remember that one guy (I think sketchVG) who used to make these stand-alone games on the PC? So cool.
the only one the MIGHT be helpful would be
http://www.vbgore.com
kinda hard to find a free mmorpg engine
I think I'm going with TorqueMMO. I'll post to keep you posted!
I have some ideas on the background of the MMORPG story.
Let's say that we are in a kingdom/city called Fouscon (from the Greek ÆοÅÃκÎνÉ (fouskono), "to inflate"). As it is situated in the atmosphere, the people are all generally lightweight, and all their vital organs are substituted with a single "life gland" that secretes a fluid that keeps them living;the rest of their space is given to whatever the person would like to inflate with. The general hierarchy depends on the type of BI, namely:
Farmers/Structure Workers (Breast expansion)
Soldiers/Athletes (Belly inflation, some muscle inflation)
Merchants/Citizens (definite Leg Inflation)
Clergy/Teachers (Posterior Inflation)
Royalty/Government (Full Body Inflation)
etc.
And if we were to go beyond BI, we can also include:
Minstrels/Celebs (Shapeshifting)
Pariahs/Lesser People (Dwarfing)
Travelers/Commuters (Stretching)
and others to taste.
Some possible rules are:
Popping (needles and other sharp objects) would be considered along the lines of murder.
Each person is allowed a certain quantity of air to inflate with (as designated by some sort of tank or potion), which increases the more their reputation builds up. (Farmers have the least amount of air, Royalty the most, at the start)
When a person dies naturally (i.e. without incident of fatal injury), they simply deflate, whereupon they can be buried in superthin graves.
Goods & Services:
Hospital (for helping those who have trouble inflating, or deflate prematurely)
Police Dept.
Fire Dept. (The sun gets awfully hot up there)
Bank (Which holds the native currency, Bubbles (1000 Copper Bubbles = 100 Silver Bubbles = 10 Gold Bubbles = 1 ß1 Note = .1 ß10 Note = ....)
Clothing Store (mostly holds latex, though StretchFabrics are coming into fashion)
Supply Repair Shop (for tanks and other accessories)
and other places of interest.
A few enemies/monsters:
Swordfish
Clamps (giant flat-faced beasts with little intelligence who stomp anyone in its path flat.)
Dozers (like the ones used to clear away loose material...except possessed by demonic influences)
Zebans and Besians (anti-inflation barbarians)
and a motley few others.
If you want, I can even extend it to different belief systems, social events, and other things that make up an MMORPG. Let me know how you like it!
sounds good. What about a bicycle pump as monster? ;) And full suit inflation?
Well, since a bike pump would actually help inflation, I'd rather it be a bonus item to increase the amount of air you can have in your system. Only now it would act like a rabbit and run away at the first sight of any humans, meaning you have to catch it!
Also, full suit inflation sounds cool. We can utilize that for the handicapped-in-inflation.
Thanks for the ideas, but I'm thinking more nuts-and-bolts first.
Been checking out Realmcrafter and was completely blown away (no pun intended) at the amount of work required. Doing the graphic work would be months of full-time work, at least, but the scripting looks like it could change character attributes (including appearance) very easily. I think I'm going to do some 3d models until version 2 comes out, and put it waaaay on the backburner til summer.
I was thinking about starting out slow with a small town and then doing different tribes. For gameplay, a character would start out human and then either get transformed by attacking a neighboring community's boss (each with its own growth characteristics) or gain lots of XP by defeating the boss of each level which respawns later. I was thinking a castle of bottom heavy girls, one body gain villiage, one BE cave, one inflation dome, one blueberry patch, etc., and write the plot as though they are transforming each other to become the dominant group.
The software seems to cater to medieval, so I would do a setup where the regular humans are defending themselves against the transformed women, usually attacking them on sight. This way players have a bit of a safe haven. Transformed characters can be confined to spaces (as slaves) or simply transformed. For something like a Blueberry, this would be easy, because you could encumber the character and immobilize it by giving it a 10000 lb unremovable armor, forcing the user to create another character to "rescue" it. Unfortunately characters would be destroyed this way if they get way too in over their head...
SO....
IF ANYBODY HAS EXPERIENCE RIGGING OR DESIGNING 3D MODELS, I'D LOVE IT, PM ME! I'm more of a programmer, so I might slack off there.
I think by fall I might have the town and one tribe ready, but I'm hella busy right now.
I've had a similiar thought. i think there should be like a side cave quest in an mmorpg ad it would be an event/quest. What would happen is a randomly chosen group of people get chosen for one quest, in that randomly chosen group one on 2 females gets to hold the gum item in their inventory - if they so choose they may partake and eat starting a cutscene that would be televised across the mmo. The group members could choose to either quest to find the juicing cave/thing, juice her herself, or just flat out let her asplode, having her respawn with her skin stained blue. by the next event (which could be held every month or so) her skin will reset to normal allowing for the next group to have their turn. :)

It's a great idea, up to the global cut-scene. I can do a global broadcast on the server (text only). Perhaps if somebody wanders into the blueberry patch, their growth can be timed...interesting. Maybe I can make a dark blueberry that does this, as a second character.
My original idea was to have the character sit there, as a blueberry girl usually does, until someone comes and gives her the quest item which allows her to be transformed back...or she gets enough victims to level her up into a blueberry farmer (which can walk).

Done and done!
I have 4 different classes of balloon girls:
Balloon girl (flying, projectile gas)
Drifter (speed, engulf)
inflatable doll (slow, engulf)
Blubberella (were-creature, BBW cross-breed)
Sounds interesting... ^^
