Being a fan of One Piece, I've got mixed emotions about Luffy's new fighting method called Gear Third.
In resume, he blows on his thumb to inflate himself and he can shift the inflation to other body parts to increase an attack's power.
But my beef is that I'm not very attached to the concept of his arm getting big when he inflates at the begining, although I do love the way his chest looks like when it's inflated (I know that it's not canon to the original storyline, but I would like instead the idea of his chest being inflated first).
My point is that after hearing about this, I'm starting getting insterested to inflation seen in those old Loony Toons cartoons. The whole mentality of inflation is quite different if you think again: e.g. "any gaseous substance (even ordinary air) can make an inflated toon being light as a helium balloon"... I know that it goes against some rules of physics, but its those cartoon cliches which makes it so fun!
Feel free to talk about cartoon style inflation that you can still recall: I'll need all the inspiration to write new inflation fanfics. :D
I enjoy some cartoony inflation as well.
Like some cartoon characters are deflated until somebody comes along with a pump and starts pumping that deflated person up.
