Hi,
I'm new to this site and joined because I have many questions about inflation that the sites I've visited don't seem to answer.
I only recently heard about inflation when I started dating my boyfriend. We have a very honest relationship and one night he told me about his fetishes (FA and inflation). I had never even heard about inflation before he told me he was into it.
I have so many questions about it but he seems unable to answer them and I think it's partly because he's not completely comfortable with discussing them; I am the first person he's ever told.
I think it's totally cool, if not completely refreshing that there are so many people who don't find the current trend of anorexically thin girls appealing. He's actually told me I'd look even hotter if I gained weight.
Anyway, I want to understand this. I want to be able to give him what he wants. I just feel like I need to know why it's appealing, what it does for someone, if it symbolizes anything, and how one comes to be attracted to inflation. Anything to help me better understand would be great.
Someone recently told me that they knew when they watched Charlie and the Chocolate Factory when Violet inflated. Totally changed the way I now view of that movie. :)
Any help/advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks people!
"Why is this appealing?" is a question I've asked myself many times over the years since (more or less) becoming a part of this community, and I still can't think of any worthy conclusions beyond what was said on ye olde Deviant Desires entry. That is (and I'm quoting roughly from memory here), that expansion is a metaphor for arousal. There's embarrassment, some apprehension, but also a loss of control and implied excitement. One can also assume that someone popping from all the pressure is... Well, the natural conclusion of persistent arousal, of course.
Although some don't care for actual popping. That's just an example of the many varied preferences in the community, which are diverse and I won't go into right now. And although Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory is a popular "entry point" for most, everyone has their own origin story.
There is a relationship in inflation with weight gain, but it defers in that it is wholly fantastical, and that may also be key to its appeal.
My advice is to just check out the art and read stories - find out what you enjoy about it so you and your boyfriend can find some comely middle ground. I'd suggest some, but... I'm sure other folk will do that.
