This here are the guidelines for the Pneumatica City stories. Have a swell time with it!
Collective Expansionary Effort: Pneumatica City’s Constitution
By participating in the Pneumatica stories, you thereby promise to adhere to these guidelines which ensure the purpose of the CEE remains intact. It also makes for the awfully cool thing of having a bunch of stories by different people in the same universe. Uber cool. Anyway, the guidelines are written with the dynamics of our community in mind, and supports the longevity of the existence of the CEE. If you wanna participate, and think the guidelines don’t fit your ideas, send darth-clone19 (darth_clone19 on bodyinflation.org) a message, and he’ll work with you, with your participation as well as the integrity of the Pneumatica Universe in mind. Revisions may be done in the future, if the circumstances are agreed upon by the participating community. Special thanks in the writing and editing of this Constitution go to Darth-Clone, Inflate 123, Carnatic and airtankgirl5. Fukureru-Shogun is given very special thanks for deciding on the name of Pneumatica City, Pneuma for short added by Darth_Clone. Even more special thanks are given to LutherVKane, not just for being creator of the current BI internet mecca, but also for having it survive for ten years. You rock.
Should you be no writer, but decide to participate with Inflation comics or stand alone drawings featuring Pneumatica, all below applies as well.
Friendly reminder before starting: Renegade Pneumatica stories are forbidden. Either Darth-Clone or Fukureru-Shogun must be notified when you post a new Pneumatica story anywhere. This is done because of the coolness factor of gathering the stories in either a list, or someplace else, which we all think would be awesome. Thank you.
I- BI – Most of us in the community are familiar with this acronym; it means Body Inflation. This is a flexible guideline. It means that while partial inflation (butt, hourglass and breast expansion) are accepted, this project is mainly Body Inflation. If partial Inflation were to appear, it shouldn’t be the only or major Inflation in the story. Pneumatica is a dominantly Full Body Inflation universe, but if at some point you feel some girl’s breasts have to grow, be our guest.
II- IF – This is of utmost importance. Pneumatica is an Inflation Fetish story circle. It’s Inflation with superheroines, not the other way around. It’s important that this is understood, so even if your story has a decent amount of action, or comedy, it is still an Inflation story like any other (except for the superheroine part). In other words, you are free to make any kind of fetish inflation story you want, as long as it takes place within and respects the conventions of the Pneumatica City superhero universe. Pioneers of Super Heroine Inflation fetish stories are: airtankgirl5 (DeviantArt site), caffienexaddict’s Battle of the Bulge stories (DeviantArt site), InvizKing's Punch-Man and Sidekick (DeviantArt), Alex Deluxe’s Fatman and Rounder (also at DA), Dizzy-Oni-Girl’s Superheroes (also at DA), and Fukureru-Shogun’s Superheroine’s Clothes (mostly WG, but REALLY fun).
III- FIM – Freedom of Inflation Method – As this is a fantasy world, you are not obligated to justify your inflation method as "realistic." This means you can inflate your character however you see fit: potion, magic, chemicals, or some other creative method. It's all accepted. Since there's no heed to physics or realism at all, if you want a villain or heroine to get rid of their nemesis just by putting a hose down their throat (or wherever), you can do that too; the "cartoony" methods are just as valid as the "realistic" approach in Pneumatica City. And of course, you can mix and match those elements at will. So, any Inflation writer can follow his preferred formula, and/or experiment with freedom. Those who want to justify their Inflation method, and those that prefer a kind of cartoony, gag style Inflation, or any combination of these aspects, are hereby content. Be creative, just like you would be writing any Inflation story.
IV- YCP - Your Choice of Powers. The powers of your heroines and villainesses are not restricted to inflation related powers. Because of guideline III, you should know by now that you are not obligated to justify your inflation method, so you don’t need Inflation related powers specifically for your Inflations. But, even with YCP, guideline II still applies. Furthermore, it is not mandatory that you do “Year 1†stories or anything like that, where you map out your characters storylines. You don’t have to be too serious about that aspect. But, if it serves your fetish story, you are welcome to do so. The community is the one that benefits from it after all.
V- He – Heroine Expansion - That is, opposed to hero expansion. The main heroes of the stories must be female. Male “supers†will only be allowed as secondary characters. (Also...it's a pun on helium. Get it?) Male Inflation won’t be excluded, but just like partial inflation in guideline I, it can’t be the focus of the story. You can even dwell on it if you like, but it shouldn’t be the focus. Male characters that are not super powered are accepted (of course. Pneumatica is not an Amazon city)
VI- 2B OR NOT 2B – While your stories may be dramatic, and with some action, Pneumatica City is supposed to be a less serious place, subject to eccentricities, akin to the cheesiness of Silver Age comics (look it up on Wikipedia). Even if you want your stories to have a drama (besides the drama you might instill on the plight of your inflated characters), Pneumatica City isn’t to be taken with dramatic seriousness too much.
VII - FOS - There’s freedom in Pneumatica. Which means it is big enough for you to write in it however you feel like. If you write that some airport is close to a park, and someone else says that same airport is in a coast between vacation resorts, it doesn’t matter. There’s Freedom of Space. There’s no need for coherence in this aspect. The City is supposed to be big enough that it can incorporate all the places and stories that are made for it.
VII – CHARS – Now, to characters. You may create as many characters as there are stories. You are not obligated to make a couple or a few character for your Pneumatica stories, and stick to them. You can do as many characters as you want. You can have one heroine, and introduce one or more villainesses every story, or vice versa. Or, you can always make different characters all the time. It’s up to the writer. Also, the main character and/or inflation in your story do not necessarily have to be the super powered women. Have a Lois Lane, Mary Jane, or whoever rip-off as a main character?
IX – BGP- Balloons Go Pop – A word for poppers. For those that like an explosive ending, it is NOT forbidden in the Pneumatica stories. Because it negates other guidelines, use of gore is too graphic for Pneumatica, so that in turn is forbidden. If that’s the sort of Inflation story you write (gory popping), discuss your ideas with Darth Clone in order to reach compromise. Its not like a bit of blood makes us go bananas, but Mortal Kombat style gore is forbidden. But, popping in itself is accepted. I mean, how else would a villainess insure that pesky nemesis of hers doesn’t come back? Well, there’s always making her another orbiting object around the planet, if you know what I mean. Umm, ok. In addition, popping characters not made by you is STRICTLY FORBIDDEN WITHOUT THE CONSENT OF THE CHARACTERâ€ÂS CREATOR, if popping is your thing. If popping is not your thing, but still like the rush of almost exploding, there’s no problem with that. Like stated before, write Pneumatica stories just like you would any Inflation story.
X – CHAR SWAP – Something encouraged within the Inflation community is stuff like art trades, and Character Swapping and/or borrowing, so this is also encouraged in the CEE of Pneumatica City. Under the consent of both parties, either can use the characters of the other to be inflated, or just appear in the story. If a story features characters and/or ideas given by another person within the community, it must be stated as Author’s Comments before the text of the story.
***About guideline IX’s role in this, the explosion of a character that does not belong to the author of a story also follows this rule. It cannot be done without the consent of the character’s creator, and the creator’s approval must be stated as Author’s Comments.
XI –LOP Layout of Pneumatica:
Here I justify guideline # VI further, and lay down some grounds for the City itself.
A) About the city: Pneumatica is a semi futuristic city. Not flying cars futuristic. Rather sliding doors, cool looking cars futuristic. It’s sort of an everyman city. Which means any environment you might need is supposed to be in the geography Pneumatica is in: forests, cool looking skyscrapers, dark alleys, casinos, Las Vegas type places, active night life, under developed parts, deserts, seas, mad scientists labs….anything you need can be incorporated into it. Pneumatica, furthermore, is really nowhere in real life Earth, so don’t name continents or stuff like that. In that same line, the history of the City is an issue authors won't touch, since it gives a set pattern, and that's counter productive to the whole thing.
You can make up your own places inside Pneumatica, but some have been created to show you the feeling of Pneumatica. It should be noted that when it comes to places, the guideline is not made with the intention that these following places must be used by anyone in the community. They are just examples:
Lighter Than Air Airlines (LTAA) – no, they don’t inflate people here and use them as traveling balloons, but it’s kind of a fun name.
Luther Kane’s Play Big Casino – In a Las Vegas like part of the city, the citizens indulge in all sorts of gambles, with all the features a casino can have, including, maybe, a black market association. You know how criminals are.
The 1-2-3 Amphitheater – An elegant, modern amphitheater, with a pointed curve structure behind the stage. Here, the high society (which seems to be prominent in Pneumatica) likes to indulge in fine drinking, while listening to their favorite compositions played out by the Pneumatica Grand Symphony (PGS).
Starducks Coffee for Caffeine Addicts – A pleasant joint, a perfect spot for those Peter Parker, Clark Kent types to sit down, and edit that story for the newspaper, but then, giant robots invade the city! It’s also a relaxing place for those that like muffins and coffee.
Sickstar Observatory – One of the many places in the city perfect for finding asteroids heading towards the planet!
Critical Volume House of Blues – Perfect for meeting that elusive contact who claims to have a lead on the latest case.
I hope you have noticed all the references to Inflation classics, and not so classics. Make your own places, and/or give form to these. There’s total freedom. Pneumatica’s for all of us. You might as well write stories without having named places.
B) People of Pneumatica: Pneumatica’s citizens are an industrial people, mostly middle and high class. There’s a lot of indulgence and fun, as well as excellent cultural and scientific interest. They are for the most part a little eccentric, sometimes very conservative when it comes to justice and law, but they mean well. They won’t even let their superheroes damage the moral integrity of the City, which may result in harsh criticisms to heroines destroying lots of property. But, there’s nothing anyone can do about that. When you gotta break a skyscraper on top of some monsters head, you just have to (or inflate a villainess so much she blocks out the sun, rendering the city powerless. Did I mention they are enviromentally conscious and use solar power?)
C) Crime in the City: Pneumatica is not a decadent City like Gotham City in Batman. The crime in Pneumatica is due to just how darn big it is, and it lends itself to people falling into chemical compounds that give them superpowers and whatnot, and some high and mighty people just use them for evil (or for good). Also, there are many gangs in Pneumatica, as much as you need there to be for your heroines/villainesses. There’s everything you would need from a superhero universe, only that with superheroines and with Inflation. Just write your stories with the type of characters you want.
XII - Politics – The only guideline without a snappy acronym. The Capitol of Pneumatica is closed for now. You can deal with politics and politicians in the City, and the freedom rules of past guidelines apply here as well. The main purpose of this guideline is the following: The Mayor of Pneumatica is off limits until further notice, since Darth-Clone has plans for the Mayor in the storylines of his characters. Once the Mayor is revealed, that character will become open for anyone that wishes to use it (under Darth Clone’s consent. Remember guideline X?). Consider the Mayor a “hidden characterâ€Â.
Sounds good! I'll get to thinkin and puzzle over how to make it :)
No, I would not want to live in a world without dragons, as I would not want to live in a world without magic, for that is a world without mystery, and that is a world without faith.
