I'll take ten boxes.
That'll last me a while.
Candy!
Ah yeah, i actually saw the news report on this on telly. One of the newreaders (don't know whether it was BBC or Sky) was rather attractive and she said 'I don't think i'd be comfortable swallowing something that was gonna expand to a hundred times it's size in my stomach'
Didn't they have something like this before? People swallowed 2 or 3 at once and got sick or something?
Oooh, it's so clear when it swells. But I thought these strange would also be good for us :P.
It would have to get the extra volume from somewhere though, either from body water or from ingested fluid, and one way the risk is dehydration, and the other water intoxication, unless the liquid had the same concentration as body fluid, which is probably doable.
In a professional capacity, i have prescribed stuff that bulks up after being swallowed, and it's important to get it down before adding water because otherwise it would form an obstruction in the throat, so there's that as well.
Even so, it has possibilities.
Its hydrogel in a non-toxic form. The same stuff in baby diapers, or those beads you put in plants that absorb water turn into a gel and retain the water for use over time. You have so much water you probably wont get dehydrated, and it breaks down and releases what it soaked up. Perfectly safe :) Just be prepared for it to bei n ur system for a while.
""We'd need much BIGGER trials but it's a reasonable enough idea."
he he he
It's just a weight loss tool though.
It says the effects are like eating a bowl full of spaghetti. The most it would do would make your stomach look a little bloated.
If you were into that, you could just stuff yourself, like in weight gain fetish. And if you were thin, it'd make you feel full and you wouldn't eat, and you'd just serve to make yourself skinnier.
Of course, if something went wrong with the trials....
It reminds me of stories I used to write about women who thought they were fat (when they were really just a little plump) testing weight loss pills and ending up bloating up huge.
Story idea! Someone get on this quick, I'm too lazy.
A couple of thoughts on this:
Firstly, you could possibly use it as an enema, and fill the colon with gel, although i don't know if it would break down once it expanded, and it would trigger off a defaecation reflex. Secondly, if it was sufficiently hypoallergenic, it could be used to fill a body cavity or subcutaneously, but it would probably take ages to break down and might not do so at all. Thirdly, you could fill an internal plastic bag with it like a breast implant, in which case the problem with anaphylactic shock would then be with the bag rather than the gel.
Those are some possibilities. Personally i would go with the enema, story-wise.
It would be interesting if it could be placed in the breasts to provide enlargement thet would last a few days or weeks. Only a small incision would be required.
Early days by the looks, but right up our alley in terms of fantasy potential.
It is used as breast implants. Hydrogel has been around forever. Its used in baby diapers to absorb moisture, plants and stuff to keep them watered, lots of stuff. This is just a nontoxic version meant for your body.
Never heard of it in implants, only saline, silicone (both bagged) and string, but it's not my field other than to appraise the end results.
I would think it would dissolve over time assuming it doesn't cause a bad reaction. What can go in the stomach is a whole different story.
Hydrogel is kind of old hat but this particular application is new.
It's food for thought and good inpiration for fantasy art and stories, but lets not get too much into semantics (like we're already doing :) ).

Exactly, those before and afters from that site are nice, high quality implants right there.
These sound like a better solution than silicone filled ones.
Considering they are externally similar but apparently far safer if they leak, it seems a little nuts that they shouldn't be considered worth making approval in the U.S. a priority.
Maybe this has or is being discussed at the BEA forums. There have been some contributors there over the years who know a good deal about this stuff.
Oh man thats cool!!!
I want to be the guineapig for using many of those pills at one time.hahaha It sounds like a story scenario Ive read on ExpMans.
The guy and gal find a "mad" scientist guy and he has some pills that cause a woman's body to mimic a big pregnancy belly and other pills to cause breast inflation. The pills work when water is swallowed and they cause more and more expansion as long as you drink enough water...hmmmm...sounds sorts familiar. It has some great processional expansion as she gets turned on by her belly getting bigger and bigger.
Wow..that size diff. of the pill and the swelled orb was wild...it makes me want to immediately order a case of that stuff.
I bet you could really get a good stomach swelling from that,it be in your stomach for quite awhile though until they broke down,so you'd have a big swollen stomach for quite awhile....theoretically.....
I dont see what the problem would be if you would drink plenty of water.
Id sure like to try and take about 8 of those pills for starters.
Wow, these are weird times.
