You ever have those moments where you realize that you are the one that must make things happen? I realized that about 2-3 weeks ago. And because of that, I finally began to undertake the first major inflation comic that I have talked and talked and talked about for close to 3 years. As of a few weeks ago, 'Beach Blanket Blueberry' had it's Page 1 debut on my DA account.
I invite any and all to come and view it. Though as of now, there's no inflation just yet. However, we're ramping up to it. The comic that is currently going on is the third draft of the story, and with it, I'm glad it took this long.
Had I started the story a couple years ago, it might have taken maybe 15 pages before we got to any 'meal-gum chewing.' At the rate the pages are going now, that time has been cut in half.
Character development is also a bit better. Though my lead female is not as obnoxious as Violet Beauregarde, I did manage to separate her from being an 'Asian-version of Violet.' Of course, she is wearing a bikini inspired by the 1971 film's outfit and has brown hair. But she won't be shouting back at authority figures, or be a world-record holder like in the 2005 film. I still like the idea of 'ordinary persons involved in extraordinary circumstances.'

Hello all! Felt like updating the link to the series. Spent an interesting New Year's Break (got the drinking and the hangover out of the way a few days before New Year's). The upside to that was that while people were drinking and watching the ball drop, I hammered out Page 8, complete with several panels that I couldn't wait to do: Tai's chewing of the three-course meal gum, in a way that you've never witnessed it being described or visualized. :P
I'm always looking for comments/critiques/etc. The best news that makes me happy is how so many have commented about having the comic take it's time to get to it's destination. So many stories or so delve right into the inflation/expansion that we almost rarely see a delineation from this pattern. But I also wanted to develop the story a bit- even Johnny Swell with 'Berrygirl' tried to give us the setup before getting to what we were there for.
This suspense is terrible. I hope it will last- Oscar Wilde
