This would definitely make for multiple inflation scenes, and it's often hard to find a framework to do that.
Groundhog Day
Story idea for anyone who can do something with it:
Spoof the movie GROUNDHOG DAY where a weatherman (Bill Murray) relives the same day over and over, except in this case make it a case of unavoidable fate. A victim finds herself blowing up -- perhaps to the point of bursting, whereupon she wakes up and it is the morning of that same day again. Perhaps she is rescued and deflated, but always wakes up to the same day. No matter how hard she tries to avoid the situation, each day finds her ultimately blowing up.
Or has someone done this already?

This is an awesome idea, and I'm jealous that I didn't think of it first.
The tricky part, of course, is to put in enough inflations while still keeping it interesting and not too verbose. The actual Groundhog Day probably had Phil Connors reliving the same day hundreds, or possibly even thousands, of times. After all, he became an expert jazz pianist by the end of the movie.
I'd love to collaborate with someone on this if they're willing.

It's official: doubleintegral and myself are teaming up to write a Groundhog's day themed story!
wow this is incredible!! I myself have not the skill to do justice to this premise though :(
Maybe someday I'll play around with it, no matter how hard she tries, her friend or rival ends up inflating her at the end of the day, she pops, and wakes up in the same friggin day!
