Quiet air compressor?

I'm getting a little tired of doing all the work myself and the shop vac is so loud and fast that it just isn't cutting it. Does anyone know a good place to look for a slower, quieter air compressor? I saw ones for airbrushes on ebay but all I have to go on is a discription.

For your mouth? Nothing with enough power to do it quickly since most air escapes through your nose and you breathe a lot of it, you basically rely on the overflow to trickle into your belly.

Now if you do it through your ass, a fish pump for $10 will do the trick. Those are also whisper quiet.

Or try my inflation pills.

Sorry... I should have mentioned that I am using 3 foot latex balloons.

Oh. Well you can probably find a smallish quiet compressor for that, but nothing really quiet.

Small airbrush compressors run continuously, so they're not very quiet. For larger volumes, like those big latex balloons, look at workshop compressors. A motor runs for a short span to fill a tank, and the tank supplies the compressed air. The motor will not kick in again until the tank falls below a certain pressure. Even a small (5 gallon / 20 liter) compressor will suffice for a 3-foot balloon. Compare prices though, as something larger (20 gallon / 76 liter) may actually be cheaper. (That is, some compressors cost more for being made ultra-portable.)

NOTE: be cautious of that output valve -- set it low first, then bring it up as you learn how to use it. And never discharge the nozzle at your face.

Rubberkat mentioned fish pond pumps in another thread here ("Ideas, Requests..." the Tayler Clips discussion).

Also a link to a quiet one - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/60-LITRE-SUPER-SILENT-AIR-PUMP-FOR-PONDS-KOI-HYDROPONIC_W0QQitemZ200225909557QQihZ010QQcategoryZ139926QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp1742.m153.l1262

I have a small compressor that ran me about $50 from Sears. It's loud as hell and is on par with what you might use with an airbrush. I don't recommend it for discrete inflation fun.
