Sometimes I see inflation art what looks too much like fat. I don't like that. :s

I don't really think it can be defined so easily. For example referring to uhcm's points, inflated can include heavier things such as water, and doesn't always have bursting as a factor, sphericalness, or squeaks. Fattening doesn't necessarily involve force feeding or heart problems. There are only a few tell-tale give-aways such as rolls of fat, escaping air, floating or visible means of expansion that would make a drawing unambigious, but many drawings have no such give-aways
Arcanumbot and Dwarfpriest have both drawn difficult to categorise pictures and I think the difference between a fat pic and a inflation pic is really in the mind of the artist and the viewer... I'm sure some of Arcanum's drawings which I have enjoyed as great inflation pics, he was personally thinking more of WG when he drew them.

I spoke of the common things I'd seen in DA. But carnatic is right. Sometimes water inflation by a hose in the mouth does count as either force-feeding or water inflation. Remove the inflationary device and change the scenery a bit and you'll get Weight Gain.

yeah but the differences between inflation and weight gain are about more than just substance, they are about the process and what's going on inside the expandee (things that aren't always captured in a drawing)

To me, it is more important how it looks like. If someone is inflated by air, but the face is puffed up too and he body is not very round, but has bulges, it still looks too much like fat for me.
But that is just an opinion :)

I have always seen it the opposite way -- air inflated bodies are MORE rounded, more like balloons, which have smooth curves.
Also, inflated bodies and body parts don't sag. WG breasts hang, but BI breasts don't.

Well, generally when you sketch the human figure, you use different parts made of boxes or spheres of different shapes: well, as you distort them in order to get the inflated look, think more of balloons, they will react or not to gravity depending on what you will them with.
In fat art, you have to exaggerate this thinking of jelly more than balloons or spheres.
after that, it s up to you to make stretch, pull and tightness effects, as opposed to flabby, sagging or even cellulite effects, if you wanna go realistic.
