I hear there's some sort of inflation in a current 501 jeans ad running in the US. Haven't caught it and haven't found it online. Has anybody else? Can you describe it?
EDIT: Found it, and apparently it's been around since June. But my wife spotted it on TV tonight, so I thought it was new. I guess it's just back in rotation.

Why couldn't it have been a girl :( This could've been the holy grail of inflation in the mainstream media.
Because women generally don't do stupid stuff like that -- meaning, I can almost guarantee that some clown will get hurt stepping off a high place with a helium balloon stuffed under his clothes. "Well, it worked on TV!" It looks like something a bunch of guys would do.
(I'm an equal opportunity offender, so let me say that women indulge in a different breed of stupid stuff.)

I say Levi/whoever directed the commercial just didn't think outside of the box enough. Guys are always doing the dumb stuff and women not?*yawn*This is a medium capable of free storytelling-use it! ..boy I can't wait till I get my BA in Media Arts.
To me the same kind of thinking is why there still hasn't been a female 'Goofy' character yet...then again I'm probably reading too deep into a stupid little commercial..

There has: there's been a clip passed around the forums a few times of Jasmine from the Alladin TV show with her harem pants full of water. I'll try to track it down later.
Let's face it though, when we're complaining about them for not using a woman in such an ad, it's not because it's annoying that they didn't "think outside the box" or whatever; it's just that they failed to give us any wank material.
I don't wanna sound crass or rude, but let's be honest here. I think we ought to maybe stop expecting companies to stick women in these situations and complaining that they're not catering to us while hiding behind excuses... It kinda makes us look bad. Well, worse.
