The Corset
I surprised myself and wrote a new story last night. It's submitted here and will join the collection in time, but meanwhile, I've posted it at Expansion Stories and DeviantArt.
Happy to hear your feedback. I didn't do much of any editing; except for a typo that my editor caught, it's more or less as it poured out last night. Curious as to whether you think that paid off or if it needed more attention!
The burst-of-creativity stories can be fun to both write and read. I'm not a fan of popping but clothing ripping or popping off is *really cool*, so I like how you've left it up to the reader to decide. About the only suggestion I'd make would be to dwell a little longer at the point where she realizes what is happening to her. A quick internal dialog with herself going from confusion to realization to disbelief to acceptance/rationalization would heighten the tension (ha - a pun!). It wouldn't have to be all at once - maybe sprinkle portions of it over several other actions. Then, the rush of going from acceptance to enthusiasm would seal the deal and maybe even add to the, ahem, 'realism'.
Good story. For a slacker, that is. ;)
