My significant other has expressed interest in inflation suits, but refuses to do latex or pvc. She has said she will look at rubber suits, and leather...but for the life of me I cannot find any leather suits. If anyone has any sites with anything that fits, the help would be much appreciated.
Inflation suit help
Latex is Rubber. lol
Another option is inflatable survival/immersion suits. They are not easy to find. The most common are the submarine escape immersion suit Mk 8 and Mk 9 (there is a video from jimmy kimmel live that shows it getting inflated). There are some bits of latex and neoprene, but for the most part they are nylon coated with rubber with the rubber on the inside of the inflatable chambers. They pop up on ebay once and a while.
The experience is different from the typical pvc and latex/rubber suits; they enable the user to 'float' (not touch the ground) if inflated enough.
If you want more question or details on some much less common inflatable survival/immersion suits, just let me know.
Obviously latex is a kind of rubber :P But they have different feels, strengths, and so forth. The immersion suit interests me, I might be getting back to you later on that...and I will see about the home-made suits. Thanks for the help and anyone else willing to contribute would be most beneficial.
How about a drysuit as used for diving?
i once made a double walled inflatable suit out of nothing but garbage bags. hehe i'm crafty, LOL! bu yea, the feeling was amazing, looked funny, but worked great, and was quite durable. also, those extra strong bags can hold in a ton of air pressure before bursting, enough to make it hard to relatively hard to breathe.
it takes 6 bags to make a decent suit. if you have any questions let me know :P
Question: What about cloth? Try looking up spandex catsuits and ordering some specialty balloons? It might sound crazy, and it may not be quite what you're looking for as far as all-over inflation, but if either one of you are into specific part inflation (such as belly), it could work. As far as good specialty balloons go, try going onto youtube and contacting a man on there called billoonlover. You'll know him from his videos, and he's pretty helpful.
Wow, I type too much ^^;

Just found this, maybe it'll help some?
Interesting results from everyone, I'm relaying the information and waiting to hear back
i didnt know there was inflatable leather...
if you need to get a cheap suit, you could try putting taped up garbage bags under stretchy clothes. i do that quite a bit and love it.
