Today At Work

Hi, guys. I just wanted to relate this mildly amusing occurrence at work today. I investigate credit card fraud, which tends to bring up quite a few instances of people trying to hide their various porn addictions. Today, I came across a "fraudulent" charge to Stuffer31. That in itself made me laugh a little, but the best part was when I turned around and almost started to tell my coworkers about it and why it was so funny. I can't even imagine trying to explain why I would know anything about it if I hadn't stopped myself. I had to tell someone about it, so I thought I'd put it here. Later.

haha amazing. Let me guess, someone's partner had seen this mysterious charge on the bill and rather than admit what it was, the fetishist in question had let it escalate into a case of "well if neither of us know of this 'Stuffer31' then it must be fraud"

While out at lunch today I watched a van marked "Umpalumpa Catering" go by.

I need to get my hands on their menu ;).

Depends on what you find offensive.

I have heard that there are a lot of reversed charges in our community specifically -- like, people tell the credit card company that inflatable porn purchases are someone who stole the card, or a mistake by their kid, and they wind up screwing the people who make the material. Apparently it's higher in the inflation community than in other fetish communities, which makes me concerned.

So I wonder if the charge you found really was fraudulent, or a combination of buyer's remorse and theft. But I guess that's what you're investigating!

Usually, it's a valid charge that someone either doesn't want to pay for or doesn't want to admit to. Sadly, that is half the battle of investigating fraud, and unfortunately for the merchants, things usually go in the cardholder's favor when they claim fraud. Also, I can understand the claims being more frequent for these types of charges. I think getting caught paying for porn is one thing, but getting caught paying for your fetish stuff is harder to explain. Although, I don't know why it is higher for our community specifically. Maybe because more people are aware of the latex, foot, dominatrix, whatever other fetishes that you hear about, so they are less likely to be embarrassed about it.
