Not sure if everyone is aware of this, but a new MK game is on the way. Classic characters and classic fatalities have been promised.
Kitana's kiss of death, while classic has dwindled in the past years. Maybe it will be back this time in full glory.
Classic Kitana
Lets just cross our fingers yet again.

Sadly no inflation in any of the MK movies. I'd love to have seen a few ladies pumped up some. No popping though.
Just thought I bring this up but they announced that Kitana WILL be in the new Mortal Kombat "9" game.
I'm a big fan of the old 2D Mortal Kombat so I can't wait but I'm also hoping for Kitana's classic Inflatality to come back even more so ya! *FINGERS CROSSED* PX

Any news if her kiss of death is included in the new game? Someone made a mock fatality on liu kang but it looks more like decompression death rather than MK2
As of now, most of the game has been leaked, and Kitana doesn't have her Kiss of Death fatality at all. = (
However, supposedly, the developers are going to be supporting downloadable content. It's still possible that they give her a classic fatality via download, though it is unlikely.
I'm really disappointed. When I was younger, I would go through arcade mode with Kitana, blowing up everyone on the way to the boss.

All of the unlockable and hidden fatalities haven't been discovered yet, so there is still hope!
Yay :D
Apparently she doesn't have the Kiss of Death at all. From what I have seen, it is just 2 fatalities of her decimating the player with her fans.

Yeah, first fatality she just cuts them apart with fans. Second one she stabs them in the stomach and face and opens the fans, slicing them.
Ive never been more dissapointed in my life.
Well, they made it pretty clear they were going for mature shock value and serious gore. Anything that could be construed as cartoony -- like, say, blowing someone up with air and having them explode -- was never really on the table, was it?
Looking forward to getting my copy this week anyway. Game looks great, and the demo felt wonderful.
As stated: they did say there would be extra fatalities released as DLC in the future. Seeing that her "kiss of doom" is basically her signature move, I would be shocked if it didn't make it into the game at some point in the future.
The bigger question is whether it's going to be anything we'll enjoy or not. Remember MK Vs. DC Universe?
I've actually been wondering for a while whether that's intentional or not. Someone on the MK dev team has to have stumbled across the mass amount of fetish content we've constructed around that fatality over the years. You have to wonder if maybe they didn't like it and are specifically avoiding making a fatality we would find erotic.
If they decided to withhold a classic MK fatality out of fear of fetish content, then those people are not really business savvy now are they?
The people who play the game with no regards to the fatality will buy the game but those of us with the special attraction to it might by the game just for that simple content. They best put it in the DLC otherwise that's just plain wrong if you ask me.

I don't think that would be one of the reasons. Hell there are people out there that find just the normal dismemberment fatalities erotic. (Guro fans I want to say but I am not 100% certain)
My guess is they just wanted to break away from the old and showcase what they could do with the new graphics engine and so on.

I'm pretty sure they just wanted to cut down on silly fatalities. Even in MK4 it looked pretty goofy. The closest thing this game has to a silly fatality is the one where Shang Tsung turns into a clown and shoots the other player like in MK vs DC. There are babalities, but those are supposed to be funny instead of incredibly violent.

I don't think they would withhold it due to us; that's a bad decision either way. I'm saying their making it something unappealing to us a la MKvsDC could be intentional.

true enough I suppose, I was just kind of thinking out loud.
They've shown in the past that they have a big dedication to satisfying all their fans, and keeping the more obscure and less popular elements of the games around. Her fatality is even mentioned on her wikipedia entry, it's a hallmark of her character, it'll show up.
Like I said: the worry is whether it'll be something we'll like.
True enough.
MK v DC's version was rather poor, while MK:DA's was pretty good considering the hardware.
Hopefully if it does show up it reverts back to the DA or even MK 2 version. We will just have to wait.
It doesn't matter if they were aware of the fetish background in Kitana's Fatality or not, because there is virtually a fetish for every weird thing you can think of in this screwed up world.
What I'm trying to say is, even if her classic fatality never shows up as DLC, it wouldn't be because of such a silly reason that they found out about the fetish groups behind it.
Either way, I'm still going to play the game and I'm looking forward to picking it up tomorrow
As disappointing as it is that her kiss of death didn't make it into the game, I'm just going to shrug my shoulders and say 'oh well' for now. After all, that's what fan art is for ;)
And speaking on that note, from what I've seen based on the pre-orders for the game, they were offering "Classic Fatalities" for specific characters depending on where you ordered the game from, so I'm just gonna go out on a tangent and say that they are probably planning on doing "classic fatalities" for DLC, so why wouldn't Kitana's show up?
quick update: Ermac has a fatality where he shrinks you and stomps on you; so they're obviously not worried about cartoonishness; and Reptile has a fatality involving [very slight] torso expansion, so the "expand character model" technology is in there.
I think you people need to stop thinking that everything revolves around us people with inflation fetishes. It's an obscure fetish and I'd bet ten bucks that half of the people at Netherrealm Studios haven't even heard of it.

I wouldn't say we (At least I'm not) are thinking it is being focused around our fetish. It would just be great to see a new updated version of "one of the grand daddies" of Inflationism.
On topic: After a quick search Reptile (Head ripped off by tongue), Sub-Zero (Spine Rip) and Scorpion (Toasty flame) are all sporting their MK1-2 fatalities. So one can only hope
the "Classic" Kiss of Death will make it's return.

There's also a fetish for that kind of thing. It's tempting to speculate that they're actually trawling for fetishes as a form of viral marketing, but to be realistic i don't think that's what's happening. Despite how it sometimes looks, the market isn't everything or dress manufacturers and retailers would simply be able to double their profits by selling men dresses.

So, what you're saying is: half of the people at Netherrealm Studios HAVE heard of it?
You have to unlock fatalities the good fatalities. The default ones are rather repetitive: too much torso slicing. There are some that are indeed creative, like Smoke's fatality (when I saw it I thought the victim was going to inflate, but they simply burned up from inside).
Here's Reptile's second fatality done on Mileena: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7RWh_rmq1D4&feature=related
I dont know if its the quality of the video, but the expansion is not seen all that clear. It looked clearer done on Kung Lao.
They are trying to do to much with MK IMO. I always thought of it as a goofy video game albeit for mature audiences but that you-tube clip of the fatality just kind of made me go "WTF?"
Reptile should eat people or puke acid on people. Not do some fancy teleporoppomutilation and then take a giant green ball into them that makes them explode.
Go back to the basics that made MK, MK! That's fatalities not any complex fighting systems.
Whatever... TEKKEN rules.
Last I checked this was a fetish forum, not a board for fanboy rants.

I believe people are staying on topic for this particular subject.
You all speak of Kitana a lot.
I remember Kabal having something similar in MK3.

He blew up people's heads. That's kind of obscure even by inflation fetish standards. I'm not into that.
Well at least I contributed.
Reptiles fatality is the closest to someone being inflated based on my observation.
Scorpion and Reptile had their classic comebacks, should we keep rooting for her? btw someone posted a download tutorial on youtube on her classic...

oh yeah. In story mode there's a background character that's basically a palette swap of her MK3 outfit only in grey. IE-that outfit is programmed into the game.
Give it a few months and we'll get the "classic Kitana" dlc, I guarantee it.
Sounds good!

Agreed -- that strikes me as tin-foil-hat worthy. After playing the game, my opinion remains the same: They were going for a harder edge, and the "inflatality" was likely deemed too goofy for the current tone, which is so-sick-it's-funny, not so-cartoony-it's-funny.
The dismemberment and amputee fetishists, however, are having the time of their lives. So if they were afraid about fetishists getting off to the game...not only did it not stop them, but this is practically a love letter.
It seems that MK9 has a new "inflatality" administrator: Rain. Only tested in a male character as specified at inflatechan. The demo looks very much MK2-ish so I think we are on to something folks. Only this time the character fills up with water.

Awesome! This is great too because Rain was always one of my fav MK ninjas!
Dude! That is so cool haha on an uninflation related note I adore this game lmfao some people are disappointed that classic costume pack didn't include new fatalities as well (now featuring Kitana, Mileena, Cyrax, Sektor, Noob and Smoke) but this Rain fatality looks really promising and from that inflation related fatality being released... maybe they'll release another? =)
Awesome!
A new ninja AND water inflation?!
Going to give me a reason to dust of Mortal Kombat again.
Wow that looks amazing! Cant wait for someone to put a video with the fatality done to female characters.
Check it out guys, not only was Rain released today; but there's also a free compatibility update that features Mortal Kombat 2 costumes for Kitana and Jade. No Mileena oddly enough, but a new inflatality with classic female ninja outfits? Somewhere Ylandra is very, very happy.
It is a good day for us, my friends.

Here it is!

This brings back memories! :D
I like the water leaks! Reminds me that "Naked Gun 2" movie scene. Also thankfully(for me) it isn't so bloody(or my monitor is too dark and I can't see it well).
Mortal Kombat 9 is a great game, believe it or not

I swear I'll never see Mortal Kombat the same way again! It's so beautiful!
That's what I've been holding onto, being a longtime MK fan myself.
