Unintentional plagiarism?

Well boni homines, that's what I want to ask you: since it's nearly impossible to have read all the stories in our archive, how can I know if a particular inflation situation or a character with a certain name or physical features has already been used?
And above all, what could I go up for if I unwillingly plagiarize someone else's story?
Have you got any special rule about that?

My stories are copyrighted, so no one else can use the words: bloated, taut, turgid, spherical sphere, globe, horizon, flew, floated, rose, pressure, pop, explode, string, feeling, strain, creak, groan, pulsatetight, sausage-like, blimp, balloon, belly, breast or butt.

WendigoSkin

I hope you are kidding...

There's only so many themes, if you're really worried, toss the idea out here, and we'll tell you if it's familiar or whatever.

No, I would not want to live in a world without dragons, as I would not want to live in a world without magic, for that is a world without mystery, and that is a world without faith.

The main problem are the characters' names and physical features: how can I secure someone hasn't written about a girl named X with X hair,X clothes et cetera?

carnatic

Well there are only so many common names, so it is likely that if you pick a name like Claire or Rachael, someone somewhere will have already named a character that, it's nothing to worry about.

hair and clothes, depends on how detailed you are. There are a lot of lazily written stories where the character is 'cheerleader pretty with long blonde/brunette/red hair' or where she is wearing something like a 'cheerleader outfit'. But I'm sure if you put a bit of thought into it you can create a pretty unique character.

like a Bond flick, it'll only be as good as your villain (or protagonist if it's intentional or accidental).

WendigoSkin

Well, the characters are also interesting, but most of the fun and quality depends on how he or she gets inflated...

I wouldn't worry about it to much if you write something that you think is similar to something else you've read well then change it up that's all.

As for names and appearances that doesn't matter I've read dozens of stories with Ann as the main character or Jen, or Sara. Or the main character has blond hair, or black hair, or red hair with blue eyes, or green eyes, hazle eyes and great body with no tits, or huge tits but she's secretly always wanted to have bigger tits, or has secretly always wanted to be blown up like a balloon, or whatever your particular fetish is.

In the end it's all been done as long as you mix enough things together to make it your own story you won't have any problems. So I wouldn't worry to much about it unless your story is a blatant copy of another story you wont hear any complaints on it.

Falcon Pawnch!

Ok I'll try to be the most creative I can be.
By the way, how many of you have already used the names Katherine, Anna and Alice, as to original characters?

People have been posting inflation stories for 13+ years. Chances are if you've got an idea, someone somewhere probably already wrote it unless you're REALLY thinking outside the box.

That's not necessarily anything to worry about, though. As long as you're not truly plagiarizing word-for-word, the original author probably doesn't care too much, so neither should you.

Seconded. Good luck and good writing.

Stories only distinguishing in names of girls, and their outfit?
Thats already quite a poor situation.

If plot is different, then there is no problem if some names are used already.

Don't worry about it. Seriously -- if you're lifting dialogue or descriptions line for line, someone will be upset. If you write a story with a redhead named Amy and someone else has written a story with a redhead named Amy, that's not a problem.

Worry less about being entirely original and more about delivering a quality story. We're swimming in a pretty small pool here.

Alice

I use the name Alice, too, and I'm not angry at plagiarism or anything. :) Write away.
