if you inflate your belly big enough, will your belly button pop out? i know its wierd, but im just wondering.
belly button
That has happened in a lot of stories and I actually like it when I see it there. But in real life, I think it's surgical (or a hernia). There are lots of folks who "bloat" and remain innie.
First of all I know that this is a really old topic but no one really answered your question. This kind of makes me wonder how many folks here are just talking about it and not actually doing it. I think your question is completely legit and I've often wondered if anyone has managed to pop their belly button out or flatten it. I've been inflating for years and when I start to get big I've noticed that my belly button shallows and when I've gotten really, really big it's almost flat. My wife once said if your belly button popped out you'd look nine months pregnant.
I dont understand the comment about people here actually "talking about it instead of doing it". It sounds as if you have a problem with this site because we are a bunch of "posers". For your information, people who bloat themselves in real life have a complete different fetish that what most people here have. Having a fantasy about body inflation and actually practicing it are two different things, so if you thought this was a real inflation site you probably are in the wrong place. We talk about a lot of stuff here, including real inflation, but that is not by far either the main focus of the site nor the fetish most members have.
I apologize darth...I meant no offense. It seemed as though folks were speculating or speaking about things they haven't tried themselves. I hate when I've seen this on other sites as well. But again I meant no offense...I'm just happy to see a site acknowleging our existance.
I'm no expert but I think there would have to be something on the inside directly applying outward pressure on the belly button for it to pop out. It pops out during (most) pregnancies because the uterus is pushing against it. I don't imagine that air or water would apply the same kind of pressure necessary for that to happen, so popped out belly buttons w.r.t. body inflation may just be a fantasy.
It's anchored by the former blood vessels which radiated from it before birth, which become ligaments afterwards. I don't know if it can pop out or not but it'd be fun if it did.
Having worked in the medical field, and been in surgery when laparoscopic procedures have been performed, which requires inflating the abdominal cavity with air to allow for room for the surgical instruments; I can state that I have never seen an "innie" popped out to an "outie" by way of such abdominal inflation.
Off topic from the belly button stuff, but how much does someone's stomach typically inflate in that scenario? How big do you think it could get?
I knew a girl in college that had laparoscopic abdominal surgery, and she said for a couple of days she looked "really pregnant" but that can mean anything. Of course, by the time she came back to school the swelling had gone down.
I think measuring before and after is in order. At least some real data could be put to the topic. I know personally I've worn pants that stretched 4 or 5 inches past my belly and thought there's no way I'd get there and by the time I was done they were tight. But often when trying to max out...there's little time to measure. :)
I don't know how large you could really get someones belly to distend, but I have seen some abdomens blown up to some rather impressive size. When someone is under anesthesia and everything is very relaxed the muscular wall of the belly can stretch a lot from what I have seen. I have seen some bellies blown up to the size of small beach balls. How long the gas hangs out depends mostly on what gas is used. Mostly now they use carbon dioxide as it absorbs most quickly.
I've never seen it but i have heard it described as "like a water melon". I've also heard an anaesthesiologist insist that a GA is necessary because otherwise you'd be in agony from the distension and you'd feel like you were suffocating because of the inability to move the diaphragm. I'm personally not convinced that that's so. When i had a barium enema, the staff insisted that without a hyoscine injection no abdominal distension would be possible and as it turned out i actually had quite a bit less distension than i can achieve any day with plavini, and they may just be very attached to received wisdom. In any case, if i was in agony because of a belly the size of a water melon and couldn't breathe because of the pressure, i'm pretty sure i'd find that hugely arousing. Pain is only worrying when it's a danger sign, and loads of people have come out of a laparoscopy fine. Also, even if i went through it at the time and found it horrible, that very fact would be arousing in retrospect. I'd love to have that done to me while conscious.
I know what you mean. It's a..."it hurts, but I kind of like it"...kind of thing.
I read an amazing inflation story very detailed and seemed very realistic...the author mentions being so big they couldn't suck in their tummy even if they wanted to...that made me curious and has been a benchmark so to speak ever since. I've come close but always seem to be able to suck my stomach in ever so slightly, but that has become my gauge for when I'm getting really full...and trust me you have to be pretty full to even start to feel this way.
That does actually happen to me. In fact, if i can suck my belly in i don't feel like i'm very full. You get to the point where you can't pull it in _or_ push it out.
That's awesome. As I said I've only been close to that a couple of times.
Sucking in the belly (uddiyana bandha in Yoga) is lifting the diaphragm and pushing it out is lowering it. The muscles of the abdominal wall might be involved, i'm not sure. Inflating the belly puts the diaphragm at a mechanical disadvantage because it can't be lowered or raised as far - it's kind of stuck in one position. That's presumably what's going on but that also means that the extent to which one can alter the size of one's abdomen by contracting or relaxing any of those muscles probably depends quite a lot on how strong those muscles are and on muscle tone. Therefore, if you haven't exercised those muscles by cruches, sit-ups or just any kind of habitual activity which would tone them, you'll probably become incapable of doing that at an earlier point. Lower tone also means a bigger belly of course. One problem i have pumping myself up with a footpump is that pressing down involves contracting the abdominal muscles, so i'm struggling against myself. If i could get someone else to do it, it'd be easier.
My client who wanted to learn to inflate her belly found it almost impossible, and i think it might help for me to inflate her with a pump because she will then become familiar with the sensations that would tell her she's doing it right. If i get to do that, she will be relaxed and it'll just be my own muscular effort doing it. I really hope i get to do that. She is actually very keen and i'm wondering who else would be.
Double post, sorry.
In cartoons it happens so.
