Looking for an inflation story I read in a scary story book in about 2005 or 2006.
It's about a kid at a county fair who writes "Loser" in sharpie on a pumpkin (or some fruit) in a produce contest. Eventually he ends up in an unknown building where a man forces him to eat a candy that keeps expanding, until he expands. He's then forced out on stage where they measure how big he is. They decide he's not big enough so they stamp him with Loser (or something to that effect). The next day he wakes up thinking it's a dream, until he realizes Loser is still printed on his chest.
Trying to figure out what book it was (it was a library book). (Not personally interested in male inflation, but would like to write a similar story)
Anyone got any ideas?
