Pushing out the belly

I've posted topics about ways to expand one's belly with air, but the thing about those methods is that they don't last long. The air can't stay in your system very long before you start to feel pretty uncomfortable. Luckily, I have another method of expanding my belly that works pretty well, though not as well.

I am able to expand my belly by pushing it out. I've met other people who can do this, in fact I think most people can do it a little bit, but I've never met anyone who can do it as well as I can. I'm not exactly thin, but I'm not terribly fat either, so the effect is pretty striking. I look like I'm pregnant, though not full-term pregnant. Like a few months or something.

So I've always had this idea that I've fantasized about but have never had the guts to do. I wonder what it would be like to walk around town like that? As I said, the effect is pretty striking so I'm pretty sure people would think there was something odd about me. It doesn't take that much effort to do, so I could go around all day and never get tired. I bet most people would just give me weird looks, or try to avoid looking at me, or something like that. I imagine few, if any, would have the courage to ask me about it.

The only problem with that idea is that it could be a bit embarrassing, especially if I saw someone I knew. It occurred to me that I could go to a town I've never been to before, but that seems like a lot of work and I think it would still be a bit embarrassing. As cool of an idea as it is, I'll probably never do it.

Thoughts?

Even if you never do that, which may be best for your embarrassment levels, it is still a very cute thought.

I am impressed at anyone being able to puff out their stomach, 'naturally', I know two people who can do that to almost silly proportions.

Of course... I once convinced a guy to go around town in drag. So, I won't tell you to do it. ^_^

There is definitely something thrilling about inflation. Something delightly soft with expansion. And exhilirating about popping!

Was that pun intentional?

No it wasn't. But now that you mention it, yes it was.

I had an idea, and I'd like the opinion of some of the people on this forum. I was thinking about the mechanism behind pushing your belly out. I don't know much about human physiology, but it seems to me that it must be a muscle or a group of muscles that does it. It also seems like it must be a muscle you don't use very often, so it's probably relatively weak.

What I was thinking was, could you build up those muscles? Muscles generally get stronger if you exercise them regularly. If you did some sort of stomach-pushing exercise every day, do you think you would gradually be able to push your stomach out further?

I see a couple potential problems with this. Could exercising those muscles put unusual stress on your internal organs? It seems like you might damage them that way. Also, if you really built the muscles up, might your stomach start to look kind of weird and deformed in certain areas?

What do you think?

Well, at least you're honest about it.

Now, I will admit I am no fitness expert, but I doubt exercising your abs would have the effect that you desire, and it could even have the opposite effect. Just the act of exercising your abs is likely to burn belly fat, and less of that means there's less to push out in the first place. Increased muscle mass can also sometimes mean that your muscles become more rigid, so they may not push out as much.

What on that page disagrees with what I said?

What you're saying makes sense, but then how do you explain the fact that I seem to have gotten better at it over time?

Relax, I was mostly just poking fun at you because you didn't appear to know what abs were.

Didn't say it wasn't possible. But you asked how one might "build up those muscles" and I just pointed out that traditional exercise of the abs is more likely to firm them up as well as burn belly fat. Only "exercising" them by sticking your stomach out could conceivably produce different results.

I was retaining wind after a curry yesterday and it involved wandering around town in a somewhat bloated state. Since i'm sort of transvestite anyway, it didn't make me feel particularly self-conscious.

Exactly. That's what I meant (even if I didn't explain it well enough). So do you think doing that on a regular basis could have any negative side effects?

Other than requiring a larger belt I don't see why.
