Story Series: Desolation Island

I thought up of a series that I will be using to write my stories. This series evolves from "The Nocturnal."

Plot:
The apocalypse has begun.
Radiation from the sun has affected Earth in many ways; the polar ice caps are now half their size, many species have died, and Humans have changed to having elastic properties. But after the apocalypse the remaining people have decided to start a new civilization and adapt to their new surroundings. The People know each other real well so there is barely any conflict. The only creatures they are now familiar with are dogs, cats, birds, cockroaches, and crawfish.
Dogs, cats, and birds are common pets among humans which is why they survive, and cockroaches handle radiation to extreme levels. Crawfish are considered invasive pests in water so they were large in number not only on land and water but also in caves.

What do you think?

And how will this deal with inflation? Anyway sounds cool.

Some of the ordeals the characters face, of course.

Species:

Humans – The human has mutated in a way that makes them gain elasticity in their skin. There are 3 different kinds of humans depending on where they are normal residents of. The most common rubber human has more elastic properties and is able to stretch out as well as inflate. The Venoman are poisonous humans that hang around the Tox forest and being able to be resistant to poison that travels through the blood but not resistant to neurotoxins; they also appear more purplish in skin color. The Citric Sapiens as they are commonly called can thrive in more extreme temperatures as well as acidic waters; Can be anywhere but most commonly in Salicity and have resistant to acids up to salicylic acid. They are also known to not travel fast and can inflate to 2-3 times more than the rubber human.

Supernatural – The supernatural are mutated creatures, ghost, or aliens from space. They try to not make high profile of themselves.

Oceans – The Ocean has similar creatures before the apocalypse but with some changes. Jellyfish keep their poisonous stings and gain an electric shock defense. Puffer fish can blow up defensively and cause victims to blow up like balloons if stung, while the good thing is that they float to the surface. Crabs, lobsters, and crawfish don’t change. Some fish have changed colors and some have fins that shoot as a projectile.

Land – The land has suffered the most. There are only several kinds of snakes: a few capable of injecting neurotoxins and the rest just plain venom or nothing at all. Bats gain venom that causes it’s victims to blow up and, depending on how much they have been stung, POP.

Sounds like paradise.
