I came across this while plowing through a Monty Python boxset. It's male so not my kinda thing and really unconvincing but I thought it might be worth a mention anyway.

I remember that. I thought it was pretty stilted, myself, but it was interesting seeing the old "blowback" gag (where the person blowing up the balloon accidentally inhales and inflates himself) tried in live action (I still prefer Wile E. Coyote, though).
Monty Python has dabbled with body inflation a few times. There was Mr. Creosote's nauseating explosion in Monty Pyrthon's The Meaning of Life, but there was also this bit of Terry Gilliam animation (in the first minute of this clip):

Also, Gilliam did a female body inflation sequence, as well! During the opening of the first season/series of Monty Python's Flying Circus, there is a very short and very quick bit where a woman in a Victorian-era corset (obviously taken from an old illustration) pulls her corset string so tightly that she swells from the pressure until her head flies off. I uploaded some frame grabs (since the scene is so fast) to the Image Gallery (under Screen Captures), but I have no idea when they will be visible.
Still, I thought you would like to know.
