Testing out the Poll module to see if it plays well in the forums.

I'm sure polls would be a welcome addition to these forums.

However, I'm not quite as comfortable with the "Cancel Vote" option. How many times can we cancel votes? If it's too many, the polls can become very unreliable when people keep flip-flopping on the issue.

And this is why we test.

That option should have been disabled.  It is now.

Sad to say, more than community is just here for the potential free stuff. But hey, I'm all up for site participation :D

Life is always a bit better once you pop a few buttons.

None of the above.

Kind of a reflexive exercise, no? All too often polls (in general, not specifically here) can be annoying when a "yes" or "no" or other pre-packaged answer is sought for questions that can not be answered yes or no. For example, in the poll above I would not class the polls as important or not, but interesting or not. This is a social networking site, after all.

The outcome of this particular poll isn't important.  This is just to make sure that the poll module is working as I'd like.

But you make a good point about polls.  You're always constrained to the options that the author has considered and decided are important.  Much has been written about the art of proper poll construction  (or improper, if your aim is to skew the debate), and I doubt many on this site have read any of it.
