Actually the two characters I was thinking of are a fire-breathing girl named Hailey and a Jester named Jade. Jade is to make a fool out of Hailey but tries to figure out what trick would work. Jade knows she is full of hot air already. But what happens if it back fires...

I just had an idea to create a story based upon a carnival setting.
Also, what better way to create the setting than to do a little research.

This sounds interesting. Hmm, strongman facing a dare regarding his strength, and finding out at the last second that he's going to be inflated and possibly explode? Pirate or clown in the seat of a modified dunk tank, getting pumped up further with each consecutive hit on the paddle? Balloon seller who runs out of merchandise and resorts to the risky gamble of blowing himself up as one last balloon? A barker with an airhose up the back of his coattails, forcing him to talk constantly to keep from swelling up, and suddenly finding himself faced with a heckler trying to filibuster him to death? Expando the magician doing a death-defying escape?
There are a lot of possibilities.
