Are people naturally more inflatable than deflatable

This is provoked by me trying to write a deflation story, which i found an interesting challenge. Specifically, i found i needed to try much harder to justify a deflation scenario from an apparently uninflated start than i would've had to for an inflation scenario. That suggests that we're sort of naturally inflatable more than we're naturally deflatable, and i find that thought quite exciting. Humans are mainly stretchy, hollow inside and naturally draw things into themselves which then increase their size more than the other way round. On the other hand, maybe we're just used to thinking of people as inflatable and we're equally deflatable. For instance, there are such things as liposuction, exhalation, flatulence and slimming. However, do you see what i'm getting at? Are we sort of natural ballloons?
