What sort of names do you think cocktails with expansion effects would have?
Inflating Drinks
Tell me how, do you do this?
You could have some fun coming up with kitschy takes on conventional cocktails: Pumpacolada, Heliutini, Harvey Beltbuster.
If you're running a more sedate and upscale establishment, then you might want to go with less over-the-top allusions to the drink's effects: Naughty Violet, Thin Mint, Silly String, Hourglass.
Bloaty Mary, Rootbeer Float, Muffin Top, Gas Panic, Pop-Goes-the-Weasel, The Kananga, Roundabout, Pump-Up-the-Jam, Wide Receiver, Blossom's Bliss, Helium Sour, The Gassanova, Airship, Air-on-the-G-String, Fuzzy Lifter, Cloud9, Bossom Buddy, Dual Airbags, QE3, Helium Havoc, Ground Effect, Puff Piece, Growth Spurt, Early Riser, Up-in-the-Air, Macy's, Clothing Allowance, Blazer Buster, The Goodyear, The Intrepid, The Mongolfier...
Song title: "Bloat Drinks"
My god ... you are a genius ... especially with "Macy's", that would definitely be my favorite...
awesome choices. If these existed, I might give them to someone that I want to inflate ;3
Most of these make pretty hilarious names for sex moves as well.
Ha!
The Early Riser is actually a wrestiling move perpetrated by a one Early Cuyler...
On the list though, the Roundabout sounds like a winner to me ^^
The blohito?
Fizzy Navel?
Gin Fizz ( or any sort of fizz)
and at a bit of a stretch, the Booba Libre
I don't know about a mixed-drink, but i came up with my own brand of inflatey beer: Gassy Gal Ale. ^.^
Would that be a "light" beer?
What about dollifying drinks. Anyone into that stuff?
As to topic, Poptail - was it mentioned?
I know this thread is old, but can't help adding my two pence. A beautiful thread topic, btw.
Sometimes you don't even need to invent anything - there are actual drinks in the real world named literally
"Soda pop"
"Bubble tea"
As for imaginary world - I'm with Mr Svensson here ^_^
I don't think drinks can be named with "less-over-the-top allusions": they are always named "the more over the top the better" in real world, so why not the same in a fantasy? Probably, the weaker the effect - the louder the name, like...
Devastator, Dominator, Tornado - drinks for kids, barely affecting adults
Helicola, Bubble blues, Swell (thanks for ideas!) - bar drinks
Go Big, Tendon Rebond, Iron Curve - sports drinks
Lily, Rose - something best avoided ^_^
i wonder why its the best to avoid "Lily"or "Rose" :p
Balloonshine, the drink that will inflate real cowgirl's since 1834!
Blimp tini and Balloon driver works for me
Sometimes real life outdoes the wildest fantasy - there's a freshly squeezed blueberry juice "Swell"
no kidding!
You have to roam over the picture to enlarge: http://www.utkonos.ru/item/66/1132166
Apologies for gibberish - when I search "Swell Blueberry juice" I get only Violet and porn, so I took the liberty of searching in my language
I have not worked on any drinks as such, however I have a wide range of potions
Perhaps that would do well in it's own thread?
I believe PartymanX is under the impression we are talking about drinks and cocktails available in a fantasy or role-playing setting rather than inflation-related names for real life drinks.
I'm really not that good for making names, but I love the Bloaty Mary and Bubble Tea, if for no other reason than bubble tea having that ironic effect (wishful thinking), and the fact that I love that stuff.
So many other good names here though, can't choose 'em all!
Pop-Top, Bubble-Up, Rack-Up, Dairy-Air, Air Head, Fill-Her-Up, Bra-Buster, Balloonable, Swellerator...
"Fill-er-up" for gender neutrality.
Gin-flation, Havana bump,
And we cant forget the beers: Ballsteiner, Heliken, Bamstel, bloatweiser. To fill te beerbellies
I don't drink so I can't come up with any drink names. There is the "Blotato" though if we can get into expansion food.
Aw, and there i was getting ready to tell you about my research on making inflating drinks! Sorry, i don't know, but of course i do know how to make them.
