I have always wondered how this fetish starts off exactly ? Associating? Confusion? I know that certain stimuli such as the wonka berry scene have something to with it, but I'm intetested in what happens psychologically; why does this have an affect on us exactly?

The psychology of fetishes and unusal sexual desires is a really complex area. Why does anything affect anyone? Previous experiences, "incorrect" learning of sexual behaviour when young? I'd rather not share my experiences though. Others may be happier.

Because of past discussions, I think its fair to say that the association is sexual desire itself. Inflation can be a reflection of sexual anticipation and eventual release (popping, for instance). Im not too sure about this explanation on the female perspective, however. For us guys, sexual stimulation does feel as if you were filling up, a sensation of pressure. For women the feeling is not exactly the same, but it wouldnt be different in kind.

mine started because i was calle anarexic and joked at for being 30lbs under weight, so i did it to feel big, and now just do it for fun.

I also recommend Katherine's book, but it's not that Violet was a starting point for anybody so much as a rallying point -- that's a common scene for people who suddenly realize there's something lurking deeper inside them. It was that way for me, but watching Wonka didn't start this for me -- it just articulated it in a way I could not.

I know one or two people who got into the fetish by way of having a crush on fat girls when they were young, and it sort of turned into a conditioned arousal based on increased body size.
