I just discovered something new...

Did you know that acetylene (a welding gas) ibecome explosively unstable at only 15 PSI?  That when it degrades, it does so explosively, either through heat or a sudden jar or shock? 

 

And finally, when it does go BOOM!, it doesn't even need an oxygen reagent to do so.

Just some food for thought for all you aspiring writers out there.
