I made a video, it's a test. Sorry I'm not writing much, I'd written a couple of paragraphs explaining the project this is part of and my thoughts on the test and when I clicked send I got an access denied message and lost what I'd written. So I haven't time to write it all out again, there's a little bit of text along with the video and er, here it is.

I'm currently working on a 3D animated sequence involving an inflating girl, but just wanted to take some time aside to get some of the techniques down for the final explosion. What I wanted was to make the style of it match my own drawing style, rather than the more 'porn-trope' 3D animations which are the norm in this community. As far as tests go I'm fairly happy with this, I practiced on a basic box to make rendering and such easier. I've already picked up on a few things to change. The text needs to be less abrupt, less distracting and more subtle and dynamic. The floor blends well into the background except for one small moment where a shadow hits the edge of the floor. The flash of light comes on very bright and dies away in the following frame, this needs to happen the other way round as at the moment the flash appears to go inwards rather than outwards, and finally the puff of smoke needs to start bigger so it looks like it is filling the object prior to the explosion, rather than it being a separate event as it currently looks.
And also, having done all of this, I realised that it wouldn't have been too big a deal to use something more 'interesting' than a box. Not a full model of the girl, but something akin to an oscar statue.
